Are you assuming every single one of those images is sexualized? Because some of them are mere images of them dressed as schoolgirls, posing in a suitable environment and not necessarily doing anything sexual. Not all of it is sex appeal.

Also, are they really imitating children for the sake of imitating children or are they just doing the character justice by portraying them the best of their ability?

And yes, they absolutely are imitating children in order to attract a person with that particular sexual taste, which is abhorrent.

Are you forgetting that there's a market for anime and cosplay enthusiasts? If they have the ideal physical features and attributes to pull off certain fictional characters, who are we to deny them that right? Let them make the most out of their appearance while getting paid to do so.

A woman who looks mature wouldn't do any of those characters justice. In fact, those characters might even come off as even more sexualized if a woman who didn't necessarily look youthful were to portray them.
