So Bethesda dropped this last night

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkFdqqyI8y4" data-time="

My prediction is it's Hammerfell
https://en.uesp.net/wiki/File:Hammerfell_map_Oblivion.jpg
First of all it opens with a dusty rocky landscape
It pans over what looks like a semi-arid region. I know Hammerfell is supposed to be a desert, but Skyrim is supposed to be a tundra, but the game had many different regions and biomes and not all were tundra-like, and an arid region would fit nicely into Hammerfell anyway.
On the coast on the right you can see a city off in the distance. You can see a tall tower towards the center of it, so that's probably Sentinel, and that seems to line up nicely with what we know about Sentinel
https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Sentinel
So that would mean the castle we see center-left could be Skaven, but idk just a guess.
Admittedly, I do have a problem with this theory. I don't know what those snow-capped mountains in the distance are. That looks like it could be the border with Skyrim, but if we're looking at this scene the way I think we're looking at it, the border with Skyrim would be behind us. So idk.

So if it is Hammerfell, the player character could be the HoonDing, or the "make way" god of the Redguards. The HoonDing appears in times of crisis to lead the Redguards. Think of the Nerevarine from Morrowind.
https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:HoonDing#HoonDing
So if it is Hammerfell, and we're the HoonDing, then the combat gimmick, like how Thu'um was for Skyrim, will probably be sword-singing. Sword-singing is the art of fighting with magic-imbued swords, or even manifesting "spirit swords" called Shehai.
https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Sword-singers

I could be way off base, but being a long time TES player, and I always play Redguard, this would be really cool to me.

I have seen some people say it's Akavir, but idk, that would be cool, but I doubt we're going to Akavir.

Have you seen those warriors from Hammerfell? They've got curved swords. Curved. Swords.

Well, I suppose if it IS Akavir, we might find out what happened to the Nerevarine.

You will never find out what happened to the Nerevarine.

Unless it involves being told in a random book you find in like one place in the world that he died 20 minutes after getting there, because they LOVE completely ignoring or outright killing off/ruining their former heroes in the lore.

It's the same reason why I expect the Dragonborn's contribution to history to be minimal at best, no matter where the game is set.

The Nerevarine was reincarnated as Bendu Olo, obviously.

Prediction time! Elder Scrolls 6: Hammerfell

- Main character is the newest avatar of the HoonDing. TES games have made the character an avatar of a god before in Morrowind and Skyrim, and with Hammerfell lore there's no way this won't be the case again.

- Sword magic of the redguards is the cool system to replace shouts. As mentioned below, this magic is potentially very dangerous.

- Alik'r desert is filled with dwemer ruins, but from a different dwemer culture than the ones in Morrowind and Skyrim. We'll see more dwemer lore.

- The lore behind the sinking of Yokuda will be explored. It's key to the history of the redguards. A powerful sword magic that was not performed correctly destroyed the island.

- The Aldmeri Dominion will attack and Adamantine Tower will fall. This means that Mundus itself should cease, except that...

- Mundus can only be maintained by the power of a god. The tower of Convention and all of its copies simply channeled this. A god could actually hold it in existence. A god like the HoonDing might not be enough alone, though.

- The main quest will have us complete the walkabout for all of creation, allowing Tamriel to move into the next kalpa without being destroyed by Satakal/Alduin. The Elder Scrolls games have been pushing the end of the kalpa for some time now. This would let them do this, but keep the world.

- To complete the walkabout, the HoonDing will have to successfully perform the sword magic that brought down Yokuda. Doing it incorrectly destroyed a large island. Succeeding will summon Tall Papa to complete the walkabout.

Elsweyr seems to be the obvious candidate. It's the only province of Tamriel that has yet to be explored in any of the games (the main games have covered High Rock and Hammerfell [Daggerfall], Morrowind [Morrowind and Skyrim], Cyrodil [Oblivion], and Skyrim [Skyrim], and the ESO has also added the Summerset Isles, Valenwood, and Black Marsh) and it's also supposed to be predominantly desert.

Yeah. They said as much. It doesn't have a title or a release date. It's in pre-production.

The trailer was most likely a trick shot. Every single province in Tamriel has a coast and that was all they showed. Summerset will most likely be last lore wise.

I want Elsweyr but I wonder how something that's supposed to be all desert will handle a coast. We also just don't know anything about it except giant cats come from it.
