It has OoT 3D, MM 3D, LA, OoS/OoA, and I think the NES games. You'd need a New 3DS (or CFW) to play LttP and would need an Ambassador 3DS (or CFW) to play Minish Cap. There's also ALBW, which is one of the best Zelda games in years.

At this point, I doubt it'll happen.

However, Nintendo announced a Luigi's Mansion port, so the idea of a Wind Waker port isn't too farfetched.

Maybe on the Switch, but definitely not on the 3DS.

And if it does hit the Switch, it will probably be a $60 exact port of the WiiU HD version.

looking at some models, will the cheapest one work or will I miss out on a lot of stuff?

If you get a normal 3DS/2DS rather than a New 3DS/2DS, you're only skipping out on:

1. A Link to the Past (assuming it stays unmodded)

and

2. Hyrule Warriors Legends running a bit faster on the system.

Other than that, an ordinary 3DS/2DS is good to use imo
