Dr. Wily builds a nuclear powered Robot Master that can travel through time, named Flux Man. He stages a coup with all of Mega Man's prior foes, and Mega Man fights them all off one by one - until Flux Man arrives, wipes the floor with him and takes him back in time.

They arrive in Feudal Japan, and Mega Man is on his last legs. But their arrival attracts the attention of InuYasha and Kikyo, who happen to be travelling through the region. InuYasha fights Flux Man while Kikyo hangs back, and the strain of time travel plus the strength of InuYasha's attacks cause a lot of damage to Flux Man. Eventually his nuclear core is damaged, and he explodes in a small but heavily radioactive explosion. Mega Man survives the blast, and Kikyo is more or less unaffected - she stays well away from the fallout - but InuYasha is caught square in the middle of the blast. He's alive, and he'll live (being a half-god and all), but he's severely injured and has to be confined to bed rest.

Kikyo needs a bodyguard to help guard her and the Shikon Jewel, so Mega Man offers to help. Past/future humor and shit happens, Mega Man fights Naraku a whole bunch.

So in Mega Man 1, you get each new powerup by picking up a sphere - essentially, the robot drops its power-up for Mega Man to find. The idea in this story is that Mega Man can store these "cores" inside his body and call upon them when he needs their power. The purpose of the story is essentially to get him to take the Shikon Jewel and use it as a power-up, at which point he ganks Naraku and has to decide between the demons trapped in the Shikon Jewel or the light of the warrior who battles them.

This thread is mostly just having a laugh, this is some concept I came up with when I was still in high school. It's goofy and fun, and I hope you have a good belly laugh at it.
