You know, the classics like Mike Tyson's Punch Out, Micheal Jordan's Chaos in the Windy City, Nigel Mansell's World Championship Racing and Charles Barkley's Shut Up and Jam?

You don't really see that anymore. What happened?

Micheal Jordan's Chaos in the Windy City

There was an Upper Deck cutout card included in some video game magazines around the time of its release that's worth some money now. The game was pretty bad, though.

Celebrities are still giving endorsements, like they just had Liam Neeson endorse Clash of Clans a few years ago. They put Ariana Grande in FF Record Keeper, too.

That made a lot of people mad.

Well you've still got the cover athletes for any given ea or 2k sports games.

oh. You still have Madden. I mean, John Madden is like ridiculously old and not doing anything anymore, but he's still got his name on the cover of the game.

They probably don't feel like they need to base games around celebrities to be popular anymore. Though, you still see some celebrities promote video games, like Bill Nye with the Nintendo Labo.

It must be considered pretty risky these days.

Games usually at least take 2 years to develop. Imagine if that celebrity went through a controversy? I remember Tiger Woods having an affair was a headache for EA's Tiger Woods games and that's on the tamer end of things these days.

But we might see the Donald Trump MMO one day

Appearing in a commercial really isn't the same thing.

True, but there used to be a far wider variety in genres.
