Hm, like a week of almost nonstop playing. (I did other things too, not just main story). 4.0 means the patch content, or in this case the content of the main expansion. FF ads new story and content for each patch. So I'm now doing main story quests in patch 4.1. Game recently launched patch 4.3.

No, the content is created in a way where old players are incentivized to run old content for bonuses through roulettes, which match you with first timers playing through the story so you'll never need to actively form a group to get the basic stuff done nor will you ever hit a wall with progressing through the game

For example - FFXI, which launched before WoW even,in like....2001? Is still going on. And FFXIV eclipsed its profitability long ago. The producer of FFXIV was even recently appointed to the board of directors. So there's no chance of FFXIV going anywhere for a long, long time.

Stormblood was the second best storyline in the game. Dragonsong War was the best.

At level 70, yes. Most fun of the melee classes, imo, and the only part I dont care for is the right eye/left eye buff.

Yeah, the lead up to the dragonsong war was spine-tingling. When nidhogg flies down, and you're slowly walking up to him, with Dragonsong playing in the background, I got goosebumps.

After the Singularity Reactor, Final Steps of Faith was my favourite story mode trial.

And although the raids haven't reached the level of Coil, I've been enjoying Omega immensely

but yeah dragoon is really fun and probably the only melee class outside tanks i can play with my latency lol...

As a Dragoon main, you pretty much have to make a mouse-over macro for Dragon's Sight in DF content and a macro for it targeting a specific target in your party list for static stuff in for it to not feel clunky, but other than that it's a blast at 70

Though I do miss Phlebotomize, the QoL changes on Dragoon like Elusive Jump's cooldown being reduced allows for a lot of live saving moments like this:

Also lol, I love how raiders got trolled by the awakening mechanics for ultimate ultima. Gotta do mechanics in a way that makes them harder to clear, and have less time before ifrit enrages, all for a buff that is necessary to survive doom.

It's almost like they wasted 12 hours trying to "learn" the fight and it has been trolling them from the start, its glorious.

I mean they learned the basic mechanics, ones they need to deal with regardless. But then relearn other ones because the attacks change when the primals become woke.

The bigger question is what secrets ultima will have in store since getting there without doing the mechanics right (which is to say, wrong in other circumstances) is way different from getting there improperly.

The FF14 board on the PC section is pretty helpful, just make sure you ignore people like strred, firemage and benjamin as soon as you ask anything there because they're just the resident trolls.
