Idaho Freak, Robert Crosland faces 6 MONTHS in Prison after he fed a sick puppy to a snapping turtle in front of students as he is charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty!!

The Preston Junior High School Science Teacher also faces a $5000 fine as Superintendent for Preston Schools, Marc Gee said he heard about the charges and is reviewing the situation.

Several weeks later after the incident took place, the police seized the turtle and EUTHANIZED it as a non-native species as people who keep these as pets must obtain a permit.

Dailymail tried to reach him for comment but he is refusing to speak to media

It drew national criticism against him with a petition of up to 200,000 people demanded he be fired..

A counter petition signed by the "community" and former students and co-worekrs reached 3700 signatures as they call him a "beloved" science teacher who said he did these feedings as a "circle of life" experiment where the "strong kill the weak"

A picture of how he feeds his turtle surfaced as police showed a photo of the turtle that is now dead and a rat being fed it...that is how he fed the puppy to the turtle where it supposedly SCREAMED in pain as it killed it.

Oh. This story again. Well, an update of it. Eh, I personally hate puppy killers. But he is a science teacher. He probably went a little too far. But the students seemed to learn and seemed to really like him, I guess. Maybe he should have used a recently deceased animal, though... Or like a feeding mouse. I think he probably did use those often. I'm guessing the puppy was a treat, or something... I'm confused at why they euthanized the turtle instead of taking it away and putting it in like a zoo or some kind of animal sanctuary. I'm pretty sure that question was answered somewhere else, though... And I feel like maybe most of the names on the petition were either people who don't go to that school, or people who wouldn't be affected. But whatever. I wouldn't think jail time, though. I would say maybe a fine and that's it.

Nah. I mean it's just food for the turtle. No different then feeding any other live animal to animals like snakes. Some folk get hot and bothered over this but don't seem to understand some animals prefer live food as it feels more natural for them to "catch" it. A animal has to eat despite the animal being eaten being cute. Not sure why they killed the Turtle too.

That's because most westerners consider dogs and cats a step above other animals. We basically see them as sub humans. So for some, this is almost like feeding the turtle a baby.

Let's just assume one was more cruel and traumatic. The dog probably didn't receive the courtesy of a fucking needle, but rather died slowly and painfully because of this dipshit ass professor.

There's nothing wrong with the lesson he was trying to teach, but there's ways you do and don't teach it. The fact that the kids and certain community members feel desensitized to such unnecessary and avoidable cruelty is a testament to their own sickness.

As omnivores, snapping turtles feed on plants, insects, spiders, worms, fish, frogs, small turtles, snakes, birds, crayfish, small mammals, and carrion.

Pet stores literally sell most of this shit.

Dogs are euthanized all the time and it is generally not considered animal cruelty.

But thats not what happened to the puppy.

I didn't say they were worse than the professor. One killed a puppy so he could be the "cool" teacher at school. One killed a turtle to get revenge. They're both wrong.

It's not revenge. Generally any time a creature that isn't domesticated tastes mammal blood, it gets euthanized for safety reasons.

And animals that have a history of being dangerous have been put down for a lot less. Down here, an alligator that merely finds it's way into the city will be taken in and put down.
