This, and also gin. Gin has a very noticeable dry flavour, and if you have it with tonic water, it's complemented by a strong citrusy tang.

Otherwise, you could try cruisers or hard ciders. Somersby tastes like apple juice straight up, but it gets you blind.

I dunno. I started on vodka but that shit is nasty.
I prefer browns now, bourbon mostly. Rum is a bit too sweet most of the time.

I don't experience any burn with liquor period unless I drink Everclear or something. But the taste makes me want to throw up.

From what I've had I'd probably say chilled vodka > unchilled whiskey > chilled whiskey > unchilled vodka > Tequila > the Bourbon I had one time. Wouldn't really count the bourbon as a fair shake though, someone bought me a couple shots of that Jim Beam Devil's Cut stuff and the taste was absolutely horrendous. I'd rather turn upside down and piss in my own mouth than drink that again. Don't know of that garbage is really representative of all bourbon though.

As mentioned above SOJU is p good, usually lower alcohol content and tastes similar to vodka - a little bit lighter taste but a slightly lower alcohol %

Im the same as you where I dont really like having to drink, and Ive found flavored vodkas to be the sweet spot for me. You dont really want the very cheapest stuff like Burnetts, but you can get decent vodka like Svedka relatively cheap. Its like $12 for a 750ml bottle here.

If that is your mindset, go with a strong mixed drink as a chaser for flavored liquor. That was my approach before toning things down.

Life-long vodka drinker here. My favorite is "Most Wanted". It's very smooth, doesn't smell bad, and hits hard. I mix 4 oz. with 12 oz. Sprite and squeeze 1/4 of a lime into it. It's difficult to find, but it's not very expensive, but it tastes better than vodka that I've paid 3-4 times as much.

Topic title literally says straight liquor. Mikes is a mixed drink. Cider isnt straight liquor.

Im biased - Id suggest something like a flavored whiskey. Pretty much whatever it is itll probably be flavored if youre looking for shots that taste somewhat agreeable. Ultimately theres no shame in mixed drinks. I think vodka is pretty solid but I lean brown with liquor due to complexity.

I'd suggest this, but Tito's is the vodka I use based on another users recommendation here.
