Reminder: Skate 4 will likely never happen, and if it does there's next to no chance of it not getting EA'd to hell and back filled with microtransactions and bullshit and then the failure of the game being blamed on the developer or lack of interest in the genre rather than their incompetence and greed.

I don't know if that's true. I don't think anyone expected THPS5 to actually be successful. It was rushed out on a shoestring budget in order to maintain the license. It was a 'bad game now so we can keep the license' type deal.

It's pretty impressive how they botched all of it.

Skate 4 would be great in theory but given EA's track record it would likely be a disaster.

Pretty sure Steep flopped but I'm honestly surprised by the complete lack of sports games like that aside from it this gen. I know those sports have all lost a lot of popularity from the 90's-00's but still, even if you don't enjoy those sports the games were still fun as shit.

When I was playing those games as a kid I always figured in the future when games were bigger with better tech that there'd be a game that combines all of those extreme sports together in a massive open world. My childhood imagination failed me.

I'm really hoping for a THUG remake some day. I don't skateboard anymore, but my friends and I played the hell out of that game. Plus online was a lot of fun.

What sucks is that a HD collection will probably never happen. Between the likenesses of real skaters, hundreds of music tracks, sponsors that are plastered in some of the levels (ie: Quiksilver), the licensing fees would be through the roof. They would probably have to charge like 200 a copy to be profitable lol

At least we have THUG Pro on the PC, but it still sucks that we'll never get rereleased or new content again >_>
