I ask a lot of people almost daily about various pre-orders. Some find it offensive for some reason. My thing is, we guarantee you to get a copy for a few bucks. What's not to hate about that!

Are there people that hate pre-ordering games? I get people to pre-order things they weren't expecting, or customers who haven't really known a game was coming out soon!

I usually preorder games I'm interested in a week or so before they come out, just for any bonuses. As well as for pre-download so I can play them ASAP.

Because if there is one thing that TotalBiscuit drilled into people's skulls before he passed is that pre-orders are a scam.

They aren't a scam!

They are legit and positive impact on the gaming community as a whole. Most of us gamers love it! Most of the people I interact with in my career love it too :D

Usually the pre orders are for hit games that look good. Sometimes there is a miss, but you can trade/sell the game back.

This. I make decent money, but not so much that I'm trying to put money down on everything interesting. I've only got Octopath reserved and even then, that's just to resell it. I will preorder Pokemon and maybe Spiderman because I think they have exclusive costumes for preordering. Beyond that, there's nothing else currently pining for my attention.

I would only do it if it was a game I was sure to get and it came with some sort of discount. Bonuses are typically underwhelming and games nowadays almost never sell out so availability isn't a concern.

I've only ever pre-ordered a handful of games I knew I'd love and would hold their value for awhile so waiting wouldn't lower the price.

I got burned pretty bad on the first game I ever pre-ordered even though it met both of those criteria in my head.

2. Games drop in price so quickly, I'd rather wait for a sale than to be there day one

Being against pre-orders is one of the stupidest things Ive heard. If you're not into them that's fine but trying to convince others they are anything but the obvious is mental
