Then Jusis is taken away, and I'm forced to use Machias again. My plan of benching him the whole time was a massive failure. But wait! He's been arrested for stuff! I kind of feel bad for him though, he seems to be getting better. Anyway, I knew those blue coat guys were bad news since the first time I saw them, particularly that scoundrel with the mustache. This is the second time they've tried to arrest us! I have a bad feeling about that whole group.

Jusis is pretty cool. I always thought he was the more reasonable one in the conflict between him and Machias. Rean is my favorite so far, then probably Fie. Rean is such a bro and I usually like that kind of character.

Only one I don't like is Machias, and even he's not that bad anymore. I assume there are more playable characters because I remember using Sara in the opening sequence. I also remember Rean and Jusis being there but I completely forgot who else was in my party >_>

I hope Crow is playable because he's great

I'm pretty sure I know who you were thinking of when you made that comment, but I do think that on the whole the Trails series has some pretty shitty fathers. Any elaboration on that would involve spoilers so I will not do that here, but that's how I feel at least.

Not that every dad in the series is bad of course, as there are some legitimately great ones. I'm only talking in aggregates here.

I'm enjoying this game, so I decided to buy the second one! So I may pick up the pace starting now

Chapter 4 hype.

I think I was mostly amused by Millium even when she first shows up, but I realize she hits a number of character traits that tend to bother people and leaves a bad impression. I can appreciate smashing your enemies with a giant hammer though.

I thought I'd be annoyed by Millium on first introduction, but she ended up being one of my favorite characters personally.

I should clarify I don't hate Millium or anything, I'm just not a fan of her character type. If it's done well she could be good!

I generally didn't like Millium. Think she was in the bottom third of my character ranking I did after CS2 and was easily the lowest of the playable characters.

Also totally missed your character ranking 20 or so posts ago but I generally agree with that. Main difference is that I think I liked Machias more than you, but he wasn't like one of my favorites or anything either. More middle of the road. Also I'd probably put Rean in the same tier as the the ones immediately below him.

Rean has some major protagonist privilege, especially with the seperation for the excursions, Rean gets a lot more screen time than everyone else, so he has a big advantage

By the way how far into Trails in the Sky did you get? In particular did you get to the second game?

Oh no, I barely got anywhere in the first game. I got to... Bose I think? I'm pretty sure I was doing Bracer Guild missions there when I stoped playing

Yeah I'ma reiterate by the way- CS2 spoils the hell out of the Sky games (especially Sky 2). And you do NEED to have played them past CS2 to understand the plot (Cold Steel 3 has even more returning characters and the plot starts to more heavily link in with Sky and the Crossbell games and continue their stories as well rather than just vague references).

You can definitely play CS1 and 2 without them, but just be aware of the spoilers in CS2 and the fact that you will be totally and utterly lost trying to go into CS3 when it comes out in the US (and 4, which isn't out in Japan either til September) without playing the rest first.

I don't really have a way to play the Sky games though :/ my computer is dying and I don't have a PSP. I guess I could get the Vita versions but they're kind of expensive

I think Sky being spoiled by CS+CS2 is overrated. Sure, you get a couple of things here and there but eh.

As for playing the Sky games. While PC is the best option if that's out but you're saying Vita is open then really the only call is getting the PSP versions digitally on Vita. 3rd is PC only though so =/
