I'm pretty hyped for it. It's also one of my favorite manga series

A quick synopsis would be a guy and a girl with L/Light level of intellect and rivalry have a crush on each other but don't wanna admit it because the first person to confess would be the weak one in the relationship. So they try to trick each other into confessing to the other and wrap everybody around them into their crazy hijinks

That's the banner I pulled her from, yeah. Her part of the banner where she's a focus unit (with a higher chance of appearing) either already ended or hasn't happened yet (not sure which) but she can still appear in this one.

Before I totally move away from the subject... I just found out that Princess Tagitsu's voice in the English dub of Katana Maidens is being done by Monica Rial. Yes, the voice of Bulma, Stocking, Index, Tanya, and Sakura is now voicing a demonic princess hellbent on destroying humanity. I might rewatch this show dubbed later on just to hear that. When/if MyAnimeList starts working again, I'll look up the other VA's in this series (both the sub and dub) and see what other roles they've had in the past.

But that's exactly how I was feeling while I was watching that episode. For the first 20 minutes I was screaming on the inside, and then for the last 4 minutes I was screaming on the outside. The episode was that insane. From Hiyori going super-chuuni, to Hiyori curbstomping Tagitsu, to Kanami curbstomping Hiyori, and of course...

"Was getting absorbed part of your plan?"
"Of course."
"Well congratulations, you got yourself absorbed. Now what's the next step of your master plan?"
"Taking this toji... with no survivors!"

I'm guessing like other Gacha games, having multiple copies of a waifu can be used to make them much stronger (usually by feeding one of them to the other.) What benefits will killing the Yume harem offer to the remaining one? Eventually I'll watch that 20 minute video to learn how to play...

I like that one a lot too. The next best is UMP45 as Pulse detonating a nitro cell.

Have you checked out Akagi Popcorn_Fairy?

I definitely would do a basic read up on the rules of mahjong and watch it. If you like Kaiji I bet youll like it too. It has the same feel and atmosphere. Same voice actor for Akagi as Kaiji and Toua too.

Itll probably also help you understand the mahjong part of Kaiji youre on.

Yep. Same art style and everything.

IMO its a 10/10 just like Kaiji.

The translator of one of them did a really detailed explanation of Mahjong but left out details that weren't necessary to understand that arc of Kaiji. All you need to know are the number of tiles left, what tiles they need to win (when they say like 5-8 wait or whatever that means they need the tile that has 5 of that shape of 8 of that shape). Otherwise it's more about the actual psychological battle happening in the background

This is good too. The first season at least. The rest (second season, spinoff) was pretty forgettable to me.

Akagi was the better mahjong show IMO but it does depend on what kind of show you like.

Yeah, the translation I'm reading had this long in depth explanation, I read through it, but none of it really stuck.

Akagi includes the psychology of gambling along with the heavy mahjong. Saki reads more like a sports anime

Kaiji's mahjong arc was great though because I don't know much about mahjong which made the simplified version of the game easy to read. The way the game resolves just fucking comes out of nowhere and is highly explosive and epic.

I'm just really super hype for the Poker Arc in Kaiji. This Arc is dece and fun so far, but I'm sure I'd like it more if I got Mahjong. As it is, I'm just kind of nodding my head like, "Yeah ok. That's a thing you did."

Yeah One Poker game you're probably always gonna be aware of the weight of each player's hands and decisions per game. The conclusion to that game is freaking terrific too. I read Kaiji's moves and reads a bit into the last round, and that made the ridiculous build-up of tension and payoff so much more gratifying

But the characters involved in it are all introduced in the mahjong game and the one after so you definitely need to read them for the best payoff
