19 y/o Claudia Patricia Gomez Gonzalez was killed instantly after she was shot in the HEAD by a US Border Patrol Agent in Rio Bravo, Texas after an unidentified agent came acros her and 3 others whom he suspected entered the country illegally.

As he tried to take them into custody, he first said they charged at him with "blunt objects" and he fired one shot, hitting Claudia and killing her.

The 7 minute video filmed directly after the shot was fired showed agents giving her CPR as the footage was captured by witness Maria Martinez

She can be heard yelling "Why did you shoot the girl? You killed her!"

Her aunt, Dominga Vincente said that her niece had graduated as a forensic accountant but couldn't find a job in her country and was hoping to escape a life of poverty in Guatemala and set up a new life in the US

Guatemalan officials confirmed she entered illegally but added the rights of migrants should be respected as they lament any act of violence and excessive use of force by a border patrol agent.

The request dial back hostile rhetoric against migrants after President Trump called MS-13 gang members "animals"

However, the US Customs and Border Protection has now CHANGED their STORY and said that they only "rushed" at them but did not carry any blunt objects as it now raises question if the story given by the agent was truthful or not as there will now be an investigation

Do you believe the border patrol agents story?

Claudia - Deceased

I don't believe their story. Why film after the fact? Why did it need to resort to shooting them in the head or firing a shot at all?

There are other ways of incapacitating people. The fact that they changed their story about the blunt objects, tells me they were willing to lie to make it look like they were completely justified. Even then, someone with a blunt object charging a patrol agent doesn't need a lethal response.

The person who filmed it wasn't part of border control, and in some ways makes it seem inconclusive.

Because life isn't a movie. The first rule for firearms is that you will kill/destroy whatever you are aiming at. You aim for center mass (where you're most likely to hit). A knee/arm/anywhere that isn't the body is a small target. Plus they'd probably bleed out anyway due to how many veins are in your limbs.

There's still a lot of factors for shooting. How shaky your hand is, how quick you have to aim, how your target moves, and a shit ton of other things.

The story change makes the story suspect.

I don't really understand border patrol in Texas. The one checkpoint I've frequently encountered is actually a god 30-40 miles inside of Texas you HAVE to go through it even when you don't leave the U.S.

I thought it was bullshit that just because I was in South Padre (Texas), I still had to go through border patrol to get back up to Austin.

That's 99% of border patrol stations. They also have a notoriously bad rating at getting their job done, mainly serving to harass legal citizens with illegal search and seizures. If there is any job in the US that needs wiped out completely it's border patrol. We would have a better setup if there were just immigration stations at the border with customs that could check for drugs and the whole nine without any of this other useless bullshit. Being a border patrol agent is the sociopathic cop's wet dream and we don't need that shit in this country, it's bad enough as it is.

I've had my vehicle searched many times at those stops. It makes me feel like I'm not a U.S. citizen. They also ask really stupid questions like, "Why are you driving a truck?" "What is the luggage for?"

Being a border patrol agent is the sociopathic cop's wet dream and we don't need that shit in this country, it's bad enough as it is.

I agree, 100%.

I've had my vehicle searched many times at those stops. It makes me feel like I'm not a U.S. citizen. They also ask really stupid questions like, "Why are you driving a truck?" "What is the luggage for?"

They have no right to search your vehicle without a warrant. Don't let them.

Sure they don't have the right, but they'll always find a way and will make your day hell if you don't let them. Unless you're rich and can hire an attorney for petty things like that, no sense in fighting it.

They would stack up criminal charges on their end if they kept pushing it. If they give you trouble talk to their supervisor. If that guy gives you trouble you can always take it to court, though I've never seen them push things at that point.

So a warning shot at the ground wouldnt have quelled things?

Take a fucking firearm safety course, Christ. Even if you don't want to carry, get a ccw or orange card, stop being to tremendously ignorant.

Why the fuck are you so aggressive, bro?

@Anarchy_Juiblex

Get the fuck in here and answer.

You had two ways to do it:

Even more dangerous. Ricochet, hit someone completely unrelated. Plus, first rule of gun safety: If you're going to use a gun, you better be prepared to kill.

Inform.

Why didn't he simply aim at their feet and make them dance

Joke.

The former tells me why it doesnt work. The second makes me laugh.

Yours was just an overly eager attempt to pump out your chest and assert you amazing knowledge of firearms. As if you dont know what a question mark means.
