I'm not upset about the kneeling. But I get tired of it being the center of attention.

I'm in the same boat. I'm about as annoyed with the conservative snowflakes as I am with the players kneeling. I'm not even really annoyed with 99% of the players who have done it, I've only really been annoyed with Kaepernick cause he only started this stuff after being rightfully benched due to sucking and not being able to win games.

Football can go hang for all I care. I'm just caring about the freedoms of the American worker and the worrying precedent of enforced patriotism.

The freedoms of the American worker do not include activism during your job.

I guess I've been transported to an alternate America where strikes and walkouts don't exist.

And while I posited it as a question earlier, now I'm just outright saying it: this move by the owners is not about respect, tradition, or patriotism. It's about control. It's about exercising control over the workers. The union was not consulted, and I'm very much looking forward to what they have to say on this after review.

I don't think its about exercising control at all. They were losing money. If they weren't losing money they probably wouldn't care, if they were making money they would outright encourage it.

Furthermore, all sports are down in ratings across the board. It's not about protests. It's about cord-cutting.

Could an employer force an Indian man to eat a hamburger? Because that's pretty much saying the same thing. He is working for someone who wants him to eat a hamburger.

Wow that is one dumb fucking analogy that isnt even in the same boat.

Nba Forces its players...and guess what...bo one cries

Trumpisms. Can't say yes or no. It's a pretty darn good analogy, thank you very much. Now, should an employer be allowed to force an Indian man to eat a hamburger? Like standing for the anthem, it is going against one's beliefs and desires.

No it's not the same analogy at all nor am i a Trumpisms. Please try to keep up if you're going to talk

Trumpisming again and not answering my question.

People get straight up fired over strikes and walkouts all the time. Wal-Mart has straight up closed stores just because they voted to unionize. And those people dont have jobs where they make millions of dollars a year. They're people who really need their jobs and have legitimate complaints over issues they are having specifically in their work places.

NASCAR has had significant viewership and attendance declines and evidently they don't kneel for the anthem there so it doesn't make sense why they're doing so bad!!!

Players should still do it. Until the whole empty ceremony is discontinued. If we're only allowed to see those who agree with policy, then the spirit of freedom is entirely lost.

It's not that either because you can pretty much get the NFL everywhere. It has more to do with that. With everyone offering a feed, people start to skip it because it's not this special event anymore

Expect to see a lot of this. Most people really don't give enough of a fuck to enforce this nonsense

"I do not like imposing any club-specific rules," Johnson told Bob Glauber of Newsday. "If somebody (on the Jets) takes a knee, that fine will be borne by the organization, by me, not the players. I never want to put restrictions on the speech of our players. Do I prefer that they stand? Of course. But I understand if they felt the need to protest."

I call utter and complete bs. When the NFL starts hitting individual players with 5000 dollar fines and 16 players do that in a game, he's gonna regret saying that and change his stance real quick.

Because the way NASCAR is now. The NFL did not change as much as the NFL and the NFL viewership and attendance still dropped.

That's under selling the fact only a small minority actually do protest. This whole issue was dying down before Trump had to be his typical divisive self and use it was red meat for his base. And anyone who's actually followed this enitre ridiculous bullshit knows that.

I wasn't giving my opinion on football at all or even what I think about the protest which is nothing because I don't care. I was giving my opinion specifically on what that owner said because I do not believe any finacially responsible person would ever just willingly give away thousands of dollars every week in that manner for any long period of time.

Nope. They're valuable talent, so if they want, they'll kneel anyway and either eat the fines or have team owners pay them. Also, look forward to the NFLPA fighting this. The days of telling black men to shut up and entertain yall are very quickly coming to an end
