I usually buy self made meals or eat out. For example, chef Boyardee for Italian, ramen for Asian, TV dinners for steak, Indian, and I always buy fried chicken and rotisserie at the market. And tons of chicken wings! And hot dogs!

Its appetizing and better than cooking, my house wont burn down. If I cook itll fail and Id starve lol

Cooking is not only a good habit and skill to have, but it's also "technically" cheaper and healthier than constantly eating out a lot.

honestly thats all it is

you just need to know how not to cut off your fingers when cutting things, and how to cut things properly after that. then just knowing how to control a fire or heat so you dont burn things

then everything else if just following the recipe.

its not masterchef.

Yeah I dont know how to cut

I dont know to control heat or what that means. I dont know how to use a pan.

Recipes are hard to follow since some say to mix XXX with YYY and I dunno how. Also Ive never worked an oven in my life.

I tried to make a meal 3 times and failed so I gave up lol. So I buy self made meals with a microwave. Or eat fast food for dinner. When I invite people over I serve them Burger King, pizza or chef Boyardee meals.

Literally buy chicken breast, run it under water to clean it, put it in the oven for 20mins at 400F, put salt/whatever spices you want on it, and you're done

Buy steak, put salt on it, put it on a fry pan with a little bit of olive oil, cook it for 4.5mins on one side, flip once, cook for 4.5mins, you're done

Buy microwavable packeted vegetables if you're lazy

There, you can now cook two basic meals that you can live off.

Ok. I dont have to do anything to the chicken while in oven right? Just leave it. And how much salt.

What do you use to flip steak? A spoon? And flip to the other side?

I dont eat vegetables so I have to skip the packaged vegetable part since I wouldnt touch those.

So thanks, those are two meals I use from time to time.

But im scared Ill burn the house down. Or if it gets burnt and I have to open a chef Boyardee can since I would starve

Just leave the chicken. Don't open the oven, don't flip it etc. Preheat the oven for like 10-15mins first too. You can use as much salt as you like - depends how salty you like things.

You flip it with a spatula when you're using a fry pan.

https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1489/7938/products/Product_Image_900x1107__2pc_Spatula.jpg

Protip: Do not keep flipping the steak back and forth. You only need to flip it once. You will be nervous that it's going to burn if you leave it on one side for 4 and a half minutes. It won't (unless you have the heat set to the highest setting). Each stove is different but I just turn the knob to 3/4 full heat and that works for me. I have an electric oven too so it may be different if you have a gas oven.

Look, when I moved out and started cooking, I burnt the shit out of everything, or undercooked it and had to throw it away. But I learned over time. You can only learn by doing. You won't burn the house down.

You turn it on and wait for it to heat up

Most ovens have a light that turns on (or off) once it's at the desired heat

Turn oven on
Turn heat to 400F
Wait 10-15mins
Put chicken in and wait 20mins
