Seriously, high school isnt the place you go to learn. It doesnt even get done

In all my classes, half the time the teacher is trying to control the class, or yelling that no one did hw and how if we dont shape up well suck or something. People rap battle in class and we always have to break up fist fights. One time a girl had to run out to breast feed and then brought her kid in and that took all the class.

I think people believe HS has lectures which doesnt happen. Me and my friends thought of it as babysitting and texted and I played DS during class.

Youre acting like people are well behaved. Have you seen Hs kids? We would always talk, teacher says to be quiet but no one listens haha

We were always told how we need to sharpen up which takes the whole class.

Plus its high school. They cant teach advanced stuff to us. Usually its people reading a paragraph then the next person then the next. Sometimes coloring a map.

My AP classes and certain electives are the only ones I felt remotely engaged in.

AP history and english classes are the most valuable classes to take. They will mold you into a note-taking, passage-reading, essay-writing machine.

Sounds like TC went to a hood school

I went to one of the better public high schools in my city and felt I learned a great deal just taking the regular classes (besides accelerated math). There were days where things could get a little out of hand but for the most part we had good teachers with effective lesson plans.

Dimensional analysis. That is the most useful thing you could possibly teach a kid.

Nah just went to a regular public school in the suburb. It wasnt a college prep school or anything. It was something that the local people go to since school is forced.

You really have to decide for yourself in high school, whether you are going to learn anything or smoke weed and get pregnant. It's so easy to do the later. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make a drink; even the best teachers can't make a delinquent learn.

And after high school, you got to decide between college and real jobs, or McDonalds.
Guess where all the stoners end up.

I will agree that most teachers suck, you have to make your own effort to learn.

A lot of kids is my class dont like to learn. I was in all regular classes so none of us ended up in college. Some dropped out due to drugs or pregnant or grades.

The teacher doesnt teach, sometimes they try but tell us to be quiet since we are so rowdy

Most English and S.s classes involve us reading the textbook piece by piece. Its boring haha

This is clearly a simple example for demonstrating the concept.
The genius of dimensional analysis is you can use it when your solving some complicated physics or chemistry equation where things are cubed and you cant just do that.

That example was far too simple to attempt to explain anything. It doesn't even accurately portray cross multiplication cause you just don't do that, unless you want the belt. You can't teach people to round to the nearest hundred with numbers under ten.

Did you not want to take calculus? or AP classes?

You had to qualify to take AP classes, I wouldnt have the grades for it. Got mainly Ca and Ds and some Bs. It was either standard, honors or AP. I wasnt in any honors classes and rare for standard kids to take an AP.

Couldnt take calculus as a Hs student unless honors. I had algebra for 2 years, geometry for 1 and algebra 2 for 1. Why there is a sequel who knows lol

I think I regressed too haha. Teachers said in middle school that high school is serious and mature and that was a lie. Me and friends watched spongebob on our phones during classes

Well that's good. I was too busy messing around with friends. They should have spoon fed it to us but didn't.

We didn't learn in class though.

For example: English class. We spend 30 minutes reading a story. That was it. Teacher yells to be quiet.
Math class. We got yelled at for no one doing homework, lectured that we will have bad futures. Went over some math problems but usually people will ask why this is important.
Science class. Watch an experiment.
Social studies. Open a textbook and each kid reads a paragraph out loud. We do this until the bell rings. It's hard to do this cause there is talking and teacher is yelling.

This is high school, so unless you took those "AP" classes, we weren't capable of advanced stuff. It would be too hard for me IMO. For example in English, they have so many hard words. There was a word called adept, that I only learned from playing video games. Most of the class got that wrong, including me until I learned it from a game haha.

Not if they cant get in. Most kids in my class couldnt or werent smart enough to sit for the ACT. Some went to community but we were the standard kids so few went to 4 year unis
