I realize I probably should've done a poll

As someone who has never touched either series, does anything make X2 stand out from 'normal' JRPGs? I get why Splatoon is unique

As someone who has never touched either series, does anything make X2 stand out from 'normal' JRPGs?

It kind of has an open world feel to it where you are free to explore each new area using your abilities. XCX was a lot better for the open world feeling though. The battles are unique from anything else I've played and the blades are cool. There are also no random encounters, but I guess that isn't much of a thing anymore.

Get both eventually. If you like dedicated multiplayer games and not much else, get Splatoon. If you want a long and engrossing single player and nothing when it comes to multiplayer, get XB2. They're really polar opposites in that regard.

I have more playtime in Splatoon 2, but XB2 is one of the best games I've ever played personally.
