In exchange, Iran is to reduce their nuclear weapon research and development centers (like the enrichment facilities). Trump's claim that the deal only delays Iran's quest for weapons by a few years is based on the fact that some of the provisions expire after 10 years, but others last 20, others last longer, and the inspection access was indefinite.
