Did anyone here play it? And did you like it? Or, I guess, what did you think of it?

I liked it. I highly recommend not reading/watching any spoilers and playing through it trusting your instincts and seeing what ending you get.

I do agree with that, too. I have personally already seen it. But I agree that if anyone hasn't seen or played it, they should...

I watched someone on YouTube Let's Play it, but it didn't seem robust enough for me to want to buy it/play it myself. Especially since 90% of the main cast was inherently unlikable (though in that sense, it was pretty much a stereotypical slasher horror).

Also, the motion control aspect seemed like garbage, though fortunately that was also apparently optional, so you don't have to suffer through it if you don't want to.

Really enjoyed it. My friends came over and watched me play it from start to finish in one sitting.

When I was watching the play through, the cast started off pretty unlikeable. But they can kind of grow in you. Especially since you can control the relationships of people...

Absolutely none of them grew on me. The mostly oscillated between annoying and terrified (and being terrified doesn't automatically net sympathy from me if I already don't like you from your earlier scenes. At that point I'm mostly just hoping the monsters eat you).

Occasional moments of charm from characters like Mike and Emily don't really help humanize them when earlier scenes have already implied they're kind of a loathesome human being. And even characters like Chris, who are clearly being presented in what is supposed to be a more sympathetic way, are kind of terrible people if you're paying close-enough attention to the overall story.

Sam's about the only worthwhile person in the entire group (apart from Beth and Hannah, who don't really count).

Ultimately, I finished the story thinking that the most satisfying ending would have been if Josh just straight up killed everyone and managed to get away with it somehow. Most of them deserved it.

Yeah, but if you already hate most of the people, most relationships that stem from those people are also going to be of very little interest.

Also, you don't really have as much freedom to control those relationships as much as you think, because in most cases, it's really just a choice of whether a pre-established relationship works out or not, and breaking off any of those relationships usually gets at least one member of the pairing killed (without you having any control over which one). Like how calling Emily out for her bullshit basically gets Matt killed.

Idk. Nobody's perfect. I understand that. But I started killing most of them. I had no reason to hate them. Also, I mean, you can sort of soet of control who lives and dies, somewhat... I've been reading about how all the choices affect certain things... Though there are some. Like if Ashley dies, Chris is either dead or will die...

I liked the game. I rented it though and did a playthrough with my roommate. We switched off taking control everytime we saw the creepy therapist guy. I think we had 3 survive at the end.

My biggest gripe with the game is how replayability unfriendly it is, when replayability is a huge part of the game.Unskippable cutscenes shouldn't even be a thing in modern games, and the movement is so slow.

I've seen one where only Jess Survives. And it's kinda funny because she has no idea what's been going on...

It's in my top 3 PS4 exclusives (with Bloodborne and Persona 5). I loved the intensity of "anything can happen" because of the choices and potential deaths.

I played through it twice.
