I never have driven a car in real life but in GTA , I always bump into vehicles and things. If I suck at video game driving , how am I going to do the real thing?

How do drivers avoid hitting other vehicles and stuff?

This is the real reason kids shouldn't play GTA. It gives them unrealistic expectations of how driving really is.

Video game driving isn't necessarily the same thing as real life driving, especially since things like the gas and brake pedals in a game are not of the same sensitivity.

I would say that you could easily pick up some good skills and learn basic handling from games like European/American Truck Simulator, Gran Turismo, Forza, etc.

It was certainly eye opening when I first started racing in a Gran Turismo game and went off the track because I didn't realize cars don't just magically brake in five feet and that major differences in speed result in major differences in handling >_>.

i know you have to put pressure on the gas a set amount to go at a certain speed.
though driving is too complicated for my mind to comprehend plus the insurance rates/car would be way out of my range of living on a fixed income.

i did get the experience to drive on a driveway once when i was 10-12 years old (lived off and on in the boonies growing up).

Driving is really simple if you think about it, especially if you're driving automatic.

The most important thing is just paying attention to your surroundings so you don't hit anything.
