I'm still trudging through zestiria. The system is just... I get what they were going for but fell short. I know berseria fixes a lot of the issues, but there's references I want to get and that requires finishing this one first.

I had the most annoying fight in zestiria earlier. I was hugging a wall and at a corner got ambushed by several enemy groups. They all spawned around the corner and the field was so cramped I kept getting nuked by spells from enemies I couldn't even see. :( please tell me they fixed that "battle exactly where you start the battle" thing?

Yeah, they fixed it.
It's happy middle ground of the battle starts where you are on the map and the old "arena" style that the others have.

I didn't run into a single problem with corridors in Berseria

the other big flaw in Zesty is the stat stacking shit. FUCK that system and I hope I never see it again. the game's world and music are amazing, and I love most of the characters.

and yeah @gunplagirl that shit won't happen in Bersy. hell it never even happened THAT bad to me in zesty, I mean I never got smoked to death via offscreen mofos, I just wasnt able to see cuzit zoomed near a wall at times. sorry that happened to u.. its kinda hilarious tho :3

Oh thank goodness. I felt vesperia was perfect given the enemy scale, but graces also had good scaling against large groups and bosses. Not so much when you run into like 3 tadpoles.

The stat stacking would work if it was like star ocean 4 synthesis, where you KNOW what you're getting in the fusion... But then it throws that "oh and you still have to 5* master them again to unlock any sealed skills" thing. Titles aren't progressed based on use but things like finding normin or acquiring tons more gold with that character in your active party at the end of battle. So I can't even tell which ones are good or not beyond their present stats. And hp growth being based on acquiring orbs from bosses and gigantos... Ouch. Also I hate the seraph system. Yes, rose is probably one of the better party members in any given situation but I wish I could have any arrangement I desire.

About dezel, I finally got to the part where we see his eyes because medusa and honestly I've heard him praised a bunch so I'm hoping he's as awesome and his backstory pays off. :3 nice design too, one we've not had in the tales of series before yet it fits in naturally. Better than having an... 8th or 9th iteration of blonde knight character who uses demon fang or tiger blade, or both.

Zestirias characters and story are brilliant imo. Sure the gameplay got its issues but I still love it due to the world and story.

Berseria is amazing too and the gameplay is a lot better than Zests.

Alicia is the only one for me. I never understood why JP was so obsessed with her and angry that she's only playable for a little bit. she was so average and generic imo I like Rose much better

She was definitely my least favorite, but she never really bothered me. I guess that she just wasn't around long enough to get on my nerves.

tbh, berseria's story is better if you've played zesty. and zesty's is enhanced if you've played bers.

to appreciate either imo it almost requires multiple playthroughs lol, cuz you pick up on a lot of things 2nd time round
