Are you assuming they only began on the game when it was announced or something. It's been over 2 years since any Smash 4 content.

It could be port, but based on the fact they can reuse a lot of Smash 4 assets, it could be a new game, too. There'd be no reason to start from scratch.

I dunno, seeing all that Smash focus in the info graphic convinces me more that it's SSB5. Would they really put all that effort and hype into just a port?

Another video presentation again. I don't think Nintendo is ever going back to a traditional press conference again. 2012 was the last year Nintendo did a traditional press conference, so this is going to be our 6 straight year without a traditional press conference.

It's coming out this year, it's going to be THE game of Nintendo's E3 booth, like Smash 4 was.

No mention of the 3DS. Obviously there will still be games coming out for it, but they're unlikely to show much here.

The presentation was Switch only but the Treehouse streams had both Switch and 3DS games. This year specifies only Switch. So it seems like Nintendo's whole E3 will be Switch only or near to it.

Yeah, and they could've easily fit Samus Returns into the presentation last year, but they purposely left it out and revealed it during Treehouse.

Games reuse assets all the time. Tekken has made a living out of it!

But would you say Tekken 7 isn't a new game from Tekken 6, or Tekken 6 from Tekken 5?

it's pretty much a mentality exclusive to fighting games. It's not like Mega Man where if you're reusing assets you can still make an entirely new game. For fighting games there's a usually clear breaks between sequels where they don't look like the previous iteration at all.

I dont care about Animal Crossing either though. Some Pokmon Switch would be nice and maybe whatever Fire Emblem theyre working on. Would be a miracle to see some Persona Q2 which is supposed to come out on 3DS eventually. So yeah I guess Im mostly just there for FE and Pokmon

Im not too fond of the mainline SMT games. They arent bad, but theyre several tiers behind Persona and even other spinoffs like Devil Survivor

Upcoming Switch games we know about:

Octopath Traveler
Yoshi
Smash Bros.
Fire Emblem
Bayonetta 3
Pokmon
Metroid Prime 4
Retro's new game

We also know Pikmin 4 is happening. That is quite a lot of games and Octopath is the only one that's shown much. It's an exciting show because those are big games we know little about.
