It's ironic that people were criticizing Arkham Origins and telling others that they should just wait for Rocksteady's "real" 3rd game to arise yet I enjoyed Arkham Origins and found it just as fun as the previous 2.

Arkham Knight on the other hand... it's actually more than just the annoying car (although it's pretty fucking annoying when integrated into gameplay beyond driving around and battling other tanks, which was already pretty tedious) that brings down the game if you can believe it. It's just a bunch of other factors that really bring it down.

And good god is the arkham knight a whiny bastard. Even the new suit somehow reminds me of the dark knight rises. The parallels are uncanny.

The Arkham Asylum and Arkham City are still the best games of that terrible generation, they're what video games should have been in that gen instead of what most games were like. So fantastic.

Never finished Arkham Asylum (my friend did when he spent the weekend at my place though) but Arkham City was great. Old roommate sold my copy of Origins before I got a chance to play it and I still havent touched Arkham Knight lol

They should have named the game something else and the Arkham Knight should have been a twist not revealed in pre-release media. All of the media prior to release focused in his identity when everyone knew immediately who tf he was

They backed themselves into a corner with promoting the arkham knight and then revealing the red hood dlc.

Should have just kept the character out of the promo material as most expected Jason Todd to appear at some point when Richard and Tim already there.

Scarecrow was hyped up and completely ruined. He was practically Hugo Strange 2.0 with his constant speeches over speakers and grandiose plans that lead to nowhere. The fact that there were no Scarecrow sequences like in Arkham Asylum was a crime.

Built up stories like Hush and Azrael had poorly done pay offs. The Batmobile was shoved so far down the players throats that it was unlikable.

I remember being put on ignore and flamed to high hell on the games boards before it was released for saying that scarecrow would be a piss poor antagonist, and play second fiddle.

And sure enough, I was right. He sucked and was a terrible villain.

Knight would have been just fine with about 50% less batmobile. Origins was ok, but definitely had a "well, here's some more of the same" feel almost immediately.

Asylum and City were easily in the top 10-15 games of the last generation.

I think the formula had just run thin at that point. Also it didn't help that they brought back the Joker AGAIN. I rolled my eyes when that happened. It soured me on the game more than anything else.

Omg yes that was annoying. I was already ambivalent on the whole romance between the 2 since arkham city, especially when they had batman carrying out joker in his arms like a lover while leaving talia's deceased carcass to rot. That was a bridge too far for me.

Why is it that everyone tries to frame Arkham Knight as a bad game rather than a let down? People act as though the game is a train wreck even though the framework of Arkham City is still there.

I loved it. Only complaint I have is the weak main villain and rushed ending. I also enjoyed all the Batmobile missions. Never played Origins but among Asylum, City and Knight - Asylum is still my fav.

And Catwoman as a kidnapped semi damsel in distress really rubbed me the wrong way. It's one thing to have some meek civilian be captive and hostage of the Riddler, but fucking Catwoman? Come on.

And Azrael is disappointing too. I don't know why I was expecting something epic after that small cameo in Arkham City.
