Is that the florida one or the California one? Been to both. Amazing places, have money to waste, get some good walking shoes, and just enjoy. Try to do as much and take in as much. Im sure more people will go into detail on rides and shit.

Go to Epcot and drink around the world.

It's pretty awesome. Plan out your days hard. Epcott and Animal Kingdom can be done in the same day, but it's all open air stuff, so watch out if you aren't used to heavy heat. (This info is pre Pandora, that might take time.)

Their water park is meh/10, skip it, because you'll want as much time as you can spend in Magic Kingdom/Hollywood Studios. two days in and we didn't get everything done lol.

Parkhopper tickets are great, but not necessary for the big two. I'd get one day for your side stuff then start the big days not needing it.

Food is actually not bad at all. It's average decent diner fare with a lot of options. If you have a desire to hit one of their nicer restaurants make reservations right now.

Edit - as far as rides go I'd need to know your plans (which parks, how many hours, how many days, etc.

Were going for 5 days, 4 nights. Our plan was to do 1 Park a day. Is that a viable plan? Will it take more than 1 day to do magic kingdom and Hollywood studios?

Im not sure what rides were doing. The people that Im going with are all Disney rookies too except for 1. We arent staying at a Disney resort so I dont think we can plan our rides in advance with their fast passes?

If you guys have the option to do a park hopper pass for at least one or two days, thatll help a ton. Everyones different so it would suck to get to a park and after a few hours realize youre done. Animal kingdom and Hollywood studios could probably be done in a day. Then you can go spend a day at universal. I love universal but I love that type of stuff.

You guys staying near the park? And always remember, Disney is outside of Orlando basically so make sure you look at distance if youre not staying st the park or right next to it. You could be in Orlando but 30 minutes away. You dont wanna do that. You wanna be as close as possible.

Okay, so what time are you getting there for your first day? Because a wonderful ease in would be hit Animal Kingdom, then end that day in Epcott. Hit the food area and just enjoy. Every distinct cuisine has a representation there, and the servings are small and cheap so you can really go wild.

In epcott, avoid the "Mission to mars" ride. Just dodge. I've never in my life had motion sickness, simulation sickness, fov sickness etc, and that damn thing had me low key nauseous for three damn days just dodge.

Be in Magic Kingdom for their shows at night. They're incredible. End as many nights as you can there (Disney has a schedule on their site.)

Use those fastpasses. Rides are right next to each other, or fastpass sign ups are next to the line. Send one person out to get the passes the rest hold the line. It'll take you two days minimum to get through MK. It's a small city.

Raiders, Space Mountain, Brer Rabbit, Star Wars, Toy Story, Pirates, Nightmare before, etc etc etc. It all has a representation in MK and is a great time.

Hollywood you could knock out in a day, it's got some aaaaamaaaazing rides that are worth doubling. Tower of Terror is incredible, and the Hard Rock rollercoaster is easily the best I've ever been on.

Just be careful about that heat though. Really I can't stress that enough. I had lived in SC for a few years prior and it was rough on me in October, lol.

I've been. The cost was ridiculous for how long the wait was for rides.

Fiance and I were there last October, which was within the "down" season. We still waited 3 hours in line to ride Space Mountain. It was good overall - we were only there for a day, so all we could manage were a few attractions in Magic Kingdom. We didn't even scratch the surface of the other parks - definitely need a good 5 days or so to do literally everything.

We stayed at a timeshare out in Kissimmee - we were in Florida, so I made sure a red Mustang was our rental. For that trip, we also hit up Universal and SeaWorld.

- Go when the park opens or wait until the end of the day to ride a lot of the rides.

-There are still a bunch of good rides/shows that you only have to wait a few minutes at most in line.

My fianc likes to go once a year. Park hopper is a good idea. Honestly if youre 21 it can be a blast. I dont have much to offer if youre a teen bopper, when we go we typically eat and drink heartily

I've been there twice. I loved it but it felt a lot different than Disney Land which is what I grew up with and what I visited far more frequently.

We most recently visited World last year and they certainly do have some cool stuff.

Make sure to get your Fast Passes set up ahead of time. Apparently they just opened a new Toy Story Land at the Hollywood Studios park and it has a rollercoaster, so if you can get a fast pass for that, do it, because it might be an absurdly long wait otherwise (I remember when they opened Cars Land and the line for that ride stretched out to the front of the park).

Also, the Animal Kingdom Park (or whatever it's called, the one that's mostly about animals and dinosaurs and the forest) has some really, really amazing rides, and one of the more impressive closing shows Disney has (and one of the few that isn't all fireworks). Last year we went to a different park with my brother-in-law and his wife and kid. They were too hot so they went back to the hotel and my wife and I bounced over to that Animal Kingdom park and holy cow. There were like no lines, we got to ride on the Yeti ride like three times in a row, the dinosaur ride is really fun (and in my opinion feels a little crazier than the Indiana Jones one)... The water rapids ride wasn't too impressive, though. But that Yeti rollercoaster is amazing.

Anyway... yeah.

Oh, definitely download at least one of the apps (there's an official one and then a third party one called MouseWait or something like that) that will tell you the wait times for each ride, it updates in real time.

Ugh talking about this makes me want to go back.

Yes. I've been there three times and I'm going back again in May. The key to enjoying yourself is to get park hopper and/or make good use of fast passes.

Most of the fun stuff is in Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom. The other parks are kinda one-trick ponies, but still great if you have park hopping enabled.
