going there and picking out a game was usually the highlight of my week. as a result though my parents didn't buy me that many games.

Hell yeah I did. Remember the Pokemon Snap photo printer Blockbuster had? Rented the fuck out of that game and got some sweet pics printed.

My parents wouldn't let me rent Conkers Bad Fur Day so they let me get the Gameboy Color Conkers game and man, that was the worst rental I've ever had.

Yeah, I also played them on their demo consoles. In fact I beat Star Fox 64 in one sitting.

if i remember the costs. it was 2.50$ for 3 days.
then it changed to 3$ for 2 days and 4$ for 3.
7.50$ for console rental.

for a rental business, never rented very much from hollywood video mainly bought plenty of games in the GC/ps2/Xbox era.

I came to mention the pokemon snap lol my blockbuster use to sell games too, I remember buying Star Wars Battlefront, Tekken 3, and Call of Duty Finest Hour.

Looking back, with as much as I rented certain games, it may have been better to just buy them outright.

We had a local mom and pop place, but they had just as much as Blockbuster. Loved it.

You know, now that I think about it, I have no idea how much rentals cost then. By the time I was old enough to work, video stores were going defunct.

It probably cost my parents a ton because I went there a LOT.

Yes, I stopped renting games around a year or two into the PS2's lifespan. I figured why waste 8 bucks to rent a game when I could just buy a used one for 15?
