It's literally the same game as FC primal and FC 4. The villains are boring, the music is horrible, the gameplay is the same derivative crap as previous games, and the liberation mechanic is tedious. The only unique "addition" was the fact that you had these scripted missions after being knocked out. Seriously, this is the same astroturfing/paid reviewed nonsense as other AAA games. What a letdown.

I wouldn't agree with this although I do miss actually being able to ride a beast. Other that that the buddy system in Far Cry 5 is better for me as you can mix and match between two main buddies.

My only complaints are the boss fights could have been better, the game could have had more outposts or at least harder ones, the resistance meter goes up way too fast and I do miss weather effects but these are small gripes.

The buddy system was superficial in the game and didn't add much of value. At the very least they weren't interrupting gameplay or requiring babysitting.

Really? The villain was super boring, the endings were garbage, and the whole resistance system was "meh." Enemies spawning every two seconds also wasn't fun in a game that limits your ammo unless you go out of your way to refill it.

Not really. Made the game a bit more of a challenge at each milestone thus leading up to a inevitable boss fight.

I get the impression you haven't even played the game because if you did you would know this is a load of shit. Enemies spawn frequently until you liberate a outposts thus "pushing back" against the cult. Ammo is always found as enemies always have weapons. Looting the corpse get's you many things too. You would know this though if you've played the game.

You are playing a game called "Assassin's Creed" and you are complaining that the game is about assassinations? Hell, if anything I liked the fact that this game actually focused on assassinations rather then tower defense, ship combat, or some other random bullshit that just screamed "we want this game to be anything but Assassin's Creed". That is like saying you don't like Street Fighter because it focuses too much on fighting.

Anyways, Blood Dragon is the best Far Cry because it felt like the developers were fully aware of the stupid shit you have to do in Far Cry games and just parodied the shit out of all of it.

True. Every great game has a mixture of level design. Best game is taking a break from the main mission and doing something else. For example, Mario Brother one really focuses on platforming... level 2 is about a tight space dungeons, level 3 is swiming and level 4 is the puzzle castle. Then they add more things to make each world feel different which sort of make a new game out of each world you play even if you are doing the same thing over and over again.

Assassin creed origin is kill... kill.. kill ... and kill. when can i just talk out of a situation or kill them a different way like poisoning there food or use traps (like in deception). It's the same way to kill everyone since the assassin creed 1. Nothing feels truly different from the last mission. Same thing with Far Cry games. once you do the 3 mission in the one area they want you do it again. Climb tower, clear out out post, do main mission and repeat again.

5 doesn't have lot a of towers to climb. They have 1, AFAIK. They literally tell you at the beginning. Literally. At least for the main mission... though, the tower for the side mission(Which is actually an antenna), you shouldn't have to climb to complete...

If you don't like the type of game, then don't get it. And let the people who do like it enjoy themselves. People always have to act like if they don't like something, it's automatically not good. Or if it's too similiar, it's not good. Just let people enjoy it. And even if it's similiar to another game on the series, maybe someone hasn't play it. So, it wouldn't matter to them...

Honestly, the only reasons I wasn't huge on FC5 are mostly franchise fatigue and (what felt like) floatier gunplay. I played FC4 to death and preferred its villain and world, so this pseudo-edgy entry didn't win my heart.

Not yet, but i played other all the other far crys. So maybe in some way....i already played it. Wow, they took out towers! it's totally different now. 9/10 Superb Gamespot. I know i sound like an asshole saying this and i'm trying not to. I'm serious curious about the game.

I will play it eventually, but i'm not expecting it be it to be a huge different game from other games like what is GTA 5 was to GTA 4 or another sequal that add a new gameplay feature.

Ive been burn by Ubisoft and the media hype of ubisoft's games way to many times.

I know i will love Far Cry 5 when i start out, but it will slow eat my soul and i will hate it probably 5 hours in. and hate myself even more that i spent $70 for the game and season pass (when it goes on sale in 3 month or less), because it's another $70 game that i won't play and should be playing neir automata or persona 5 instead.

I didn't say the buddies were useless, just that it was superficial and didn't add much to the game. Just felt like a poorly done, weak mechanic that could be flaunted at game conferences as a new feature.

Joseph seed was a terrible villain; faith seed was the only half decent one of the 3 lesser bosses that had a decent story, but the rest was as generic as it gets.

The "challenges" at each milestone were pathetic and just added more busywork if anything. The only cool part were those squads that actively hunted you, but those wound up being vehicles to drive the story.

Corpse looting seldom gives ammo for weapons other than ARs or snipers, and the whole purchasing ammo mechanic has just been busywork since FC 3.

Idk. I like it. Other than this one, I've only played 4. But I've seen some of 3 and primal. They have other differences. You can fish. You don't need to skin animals to get extra ammo. It's not an linear as the other games. But I really can't remember 4 that well. The air dropping whenever is cool. And actually helicopters and planes you can fly. The GFH & FFH are cool. And I think implemented better than 4, IIRC. And they all have abilities. And those can be very helpful... There are some other things, too...

As for the ammo, I never have a problem. I mainly use bow and arrows. And you can get your arrows(the regular ones) back. I also have a shotgun, sniper rifle, and pistol(sidearm). I find shotgun shells a lot. Sniper rifle isn't too hard. I barely use it, but never have ammo trouble with it. So, I don't really get the ammo complaint...

yeah, not exactly sure what it was, but looking at the 3 of them on the board at the beginning of the game i was immediately like "dude, i have got to fuck this john douche up". the other two didn't really jump out at me in any way.

I ended up doing Jacob first, and he's also the only one I've done so far. I actually skipped John because he looked....weak. Like an inconsequential side character. He'll be second since I was saving Faith for last.

Frankly I think you have bad tastes in games if you think this was a "great game." After playing it for a few hours it is the epitome of a bland AAA game- it has nice graphics, decent voice acting, but everything else about it is stale and boring.

It depends on what it is. CoD offers adversarial multiplayer with new maps, weapons, etc., and it's not really comparable. PVP is a very different beast. The best example of refreshing something while keeping it similar are AC4 and ACO. They both really spiced up the Assassin's Creed formula in their own ways.
