Look what happened with the Fantastic Four. At one point they stopped the comic so people would be less exposed to them. They also have done similar with the X-Men. You must have a very different vision of Spidey then, since the Raimi trilogy made the 60s and 70s Spidey run look serious by comparison. I still remember that one scene in SM2 where Peter just randomly tripped over a bike wheel. No reason. They just thought it would look funny. And then there were countless cringeworthy moments where actors really hammed up scenes. The one thing I'll give you, though, is that some of the action scenes in SM2 were pretty neat. However, the acting, story, etc, was a lot better in ASM1. Gwen Stacy in particular felt like a real person whereas MJ often just felt like a set piece. I still remember that one scene in SM2 where Peter just randomly tripped over a bike wheel. No reason. They just thought it would look funny. And then there were countless cringeworthy moments where actors really hammed up scenes. The one thing I'll give you, though, is that some of the action scenes in SM2 were pretty neat. However, the acting, story, etc, was a lot better in ASM1. Gwen Stacy in particular felt like a real person whereas MJ often just felt like a set piece.
