Approximately one rep for every 300,000 citizens.

We can't do what Washington proposed or we would have over 10,000 members, but is congress too small to accurately represent out citizens?

It's hard enough to get things done. Do you think things would improve by more than doubling the number? A 1085 member congress would impossibly gridlocked much of the time.

The other issue is deciding too much at the federal level instead of leaving more to states and local government.
