This literally has nothing to do with the arcade game.

Why is George an ape, and not a man who mutated into an ape.

Where is Ralph the Wolf and Lizzie the Lizard, you know, being FRIENDS with George and not fighting, seeing it was a CO-OP game?

Why don't they turn naked when they run out of health and walk offscreen?

And why isn't it nearly impossible to go several cities without dying?

In the movie, George is an ape. Not a man who turned into an ape due to a chemical spill.

Also, the movie takes this seriously, when the games were a parody of giant-monster movies, and were never meant to be taken seriously.

I generally hate the direction that they chose (ie, a serious action movie with emphasized human characters rather than a monster-comedy), but I'll likely watch it when it hits NFI because the effects look neat and it's still a giant monster movie.

Yeah, I might see it at a later date because of Dwayne, but I'm more concerned about that American Pie knock-off "Blockers". I hate how "Hollywood" is turning "all"-male casts into "all"-female.

I remember loving the arcade port on the N64 when I was a kid.
Years later later I bought the new Rampage game on the Wii that had both the original arcade Rampage game as well as its sequel(which was the one I played as a kid) as bonuses.
After playing again after so many years I realized how mind-numbingly repetitive the game was.
It was a slog but my two friends and I finally managed to destroy all the cities and we were all super-relieved that the torture was finally over lol

Saw it last night. It was a decent film. I liked it.
One gripe I had was that it was too darn serious. The games it was based on was filled with comedy.
The movie did have humour sure but not quite enough.

I've seen Way worse films and this is far away from the worst.
I mean, for a movie based on a videogame it was really good IMO.
