Ransom?

Rampage is an update to the original on Steam. Multiple playable characters and whatnot.

I've never played the series, but it was one of my Dad's favorite games and my mother made him get rid of it >_>'

Edit: I just looked it up and I guess I was wrong about "Rampage". The game's just called "River City Ransom: Underground".

As in, she didn't like the idea of a game where you went around and beat people up for their money.

It was good when it was released as there really wasn't any beat em ups where you could increase stats etc, it was almost an rpg/beat em up hybrid...which really didn't exist yet. Some games like Kladash I think it was, were out but in the arcade.

Don't think it aged too well though but I have not played the remake.
