No idea what a torie is, so I'll go with no.

Oh you're American. So embarassed of your own country that you have to pretend you're not from there lmao
And lol JerseyProud

I'm not though.
Got to love how you assume there's only 2 countries on the whole planet.

Any European who's posting on an English dominated forum, Canadian, or Australian would know what a torie is. From your posting habits you're clearly not from an Asian country and I doubt you're from South America (though that's the closest option). If you aren't American, what are you? I've seen a pattern of people who are clearly American denying that they are but are unable to say what country they're actually from despite using it as an argument. And for the record I'm from Germany.

None of your business, but I'm not American.
But I googled what a torie was, and yeah no wonder I had no idea what it was, seeing how I don't give a damn about UK politics.

haha the only kinds of clowns who would bring up their nationalities as an argument then become unable to say where they're from are Americans embarrassed by their countries. OEIO999 did it too. To your credit, being embarrassed for America is a smart thing but it's pathetic to defend the very things you're embarrassed at them by.

I didn't bring up my nationality, you did.

Nope, I just said party. Pretty much all countries have a right leaning party. You know you're fucked up when you're on JerseyProud's side.

That kid is dumb for laughing and 65 years is a waste of tax payer money. Theres no benefit to keeping someone locked up for that long because he was only 15. 25 would've been fair. Alabama is being a bit extreme again. The guy who died got his punishment for rushing at cops. so why punish someone else ?

They offered him 25, and he wouldn't take it. And this kid was an accomplice, meaning he's legally just as responsible as the dude who rushed the cops.

Also, the dead guy wasn't the only one shooting the cops, and this kid likely did, too.

A juvenile declining a life sentence for a death he did not commit? Gee, I'm surprised he chose to fight instead.

his kid likely did, too.

"likely", as in, not established.

In what universe is 25 years max a 'life sentence?'

I'm under the impression that it was for 25 years minimum which is often regarded as a life sentence, and would certainly look that way to many 18-year-olds.

So, you're just ignorant of how plea deals work, and therefore shouldn't be posting?

Convicting people of murder who never killed anyone seems like a pretty obvious perversion of justice, but it's sadly common practice all across the country. If you commit a crime with another person and the cops kill that other person, you're responsible?

Yes

If you knowingly assist someone commit a deadly crime, what's the meaningful difference between you and the person who actually commits the crime? "No officer, I didn't kill anybody, I only gave the shooter the gun and yelled 'kill that motherfucker!'"

Its a Noticeable lack nuance in this topic.

Like the kids def not innocent but getting dragged into shit like this by people so much older them hes also a victim.

Not to mention its a little excessive to throw the book at a kid like that.

This l reminds me of a friend of mines story
His father was a mentor to a lot of kids including myself

And one day he was hanging with his friends in the back seat and to two older kids in the front seat commit a drive by killing a 16 year old kid.

They all end up getting life, even though I dont think thats was in his character. I cant say he shouldnt of gotten time, even if life seems excessive. It just shows you how quickly a single bad decision can spiral outta control .

ITP - 18 year olds are literal children; murder, armed robbery, and theft are not worse than tax evasion; literal life sentences are better than chances at parole; and armed robbery is merely 'delinquency.'
