Where does it say he was forced? 'cause I don't see any of it in the article.

usually when a kid is found at a crime scene they treat the kid as innocent. would you arrest a 10 year old who was in a house while someone killed someone?

I would if he had broken in to the house...

so if a 10 year old snuck into an abandoned house to play and at the same time, someone killed someone, you would arrest the 10 year old?

My son plays in abandoned houses all the time. Are you calling my son a murderer?!

Your son's a murderer?! *tagging you as "father of murderer"*

The plea bargain was probably something along the lines of "we won't charge you for the murder if you plead guilty to the other accusations", seeing how many years he'd have gotten if he had agreed, and how many years he got for each separate crime in the end. But hey, blame the system, and not the guy who did the crimes in the first place.

You are right...It does need change. He shouldnt have the chance to get paroled out

why are you so excited to see an innocent kid go to prison for doing nothing wrong?

In what fucking universe is a kid that robs places and shoots at cops innocent?

But seriously convicting someone for a murder they literally didn't commit is fucked up and I can't believe this law hasn't been overturned.

And this alone shows why he should have taken the deal - 25 years max? He's looking at 35 JUST for what he ACTUALLY did.

I don't necessarily agree with him getting the murder charge, but RICO laws work the same way, so maybe the kid should have actually chosen to not be a fuckup.

Any European who's posting on an English dominated forum, Canadian, or Australian would know what a torie is. From your posting habits you're clearly not from an Asian country and I doubt you're from South America (though that's the closest option). If you aren't American, what are you? I've seen a pattern of people who are clearly American denying that they are but are unable to say what country they're actually from despite using it as an argument. And for the record I'm from Germany.

That kid is dumb for laughing and 65 years is a waste of tax payer money. Theres no benefit to keeping someone locked up for that long because he was only 15. 25 would've been fair. Alabama is being a bit extreme again. The guy who died got his punishment for rushing at cops. so why punish someone else ?

They offered him 25, and he wouldn't take it. And this kid was an accomplice, meaning he's legally just as responsible as the dude who rushed the cops.

Also, the dead guy wasn't the only one shooting the cops, and this kid likely did, too.

A juvenile declining a life sentence for a death he did not commit? Gee, I'm surprised he chose to fight instead.

his kid likely did, too.

"likely", as in, not established.

He was getting 35 for jus his robbery charges alone...it was a deal. And the dumb fuck passed on it.

This round of guess the race is way too easy. I got it right before I even clicked the link to see the picture of the criminal.

In what universe is 25 years max a 'life sentence?'

Are you a torie from the UK?

No idea what a torie is, so I'll go with no.

Oh you're American. So embarassed of your own country that you have to pretend you're not from there lmao
And lol JerseyProud

I'm not though.
Got to love how you assume there's only 2 countries on the whole planet.

None of your business, but I'm not American.
But I googled what a torie was, and yeah no wonder I had no idea what it was, seeing how I don't give a damn about UK politics.

I'm under the impression that it was for 25 years minimum which is often regarded as a life sentence, and would certainly look that way to many 18-year-olds.

haha the only kinds of clowns who would bring up their nationalities as an argument then become unable to say where they're from are Americans embarrassed by their countries. OEIO999 did it too. To your credit, being embarrassed for America is a smart thing but it's pathetic to defend the very things you're embarrassed at them by.
