I'd say being butthurt is like being personally offended (like by something that directly insults you as a person), then being triggered is just anything that you don't agree with and find offensive (typically attributed to "SJWs" in regards to racial, gender, etc.. "injustices.") Or maybe something as simple as someone called your favourite band/media/whatever shit.

I think triggered is an immediate reaction, whereas butthurt is a prolonged/lingering experience. If someone is triggered, it's something that just happened, but someone can be butthurt about something that happened awhile ago.
