I hear the US lags behind a lot of developed countries in infrastructure For those of you who have been to other countries, how was the infrastructure there?

The US is significantly larger (geographically) than almost every other western country, so the cost of maintaining its infrastructure is enormous.

With that said, it is definitely poor relative to its western peers.

In the six months I lived in Germany, I never had a service interruption of power, water, or internet. I experience at least 2 of 3 at least once a month here in the US. Also, I never saw a large pothole in Germany, while I drive through a labyrinth of hundreds of them daily here in the US.

its more like car-centric travel is relatively expensive and the U.S. doesn't tax gas enough to fund it sufficiently
