People in the Persona world can have a selective memory about stuff related to the Metaverse (the 'Metaverse' in its specific form only exists in P5 but each game has some similar 'other world' based on the area it takes place in). If you can't use a Persona then your brain might just...not quite get it. Not sure how to explain it.

Also, if you max Mishima's Confidant, he's the first one to rally the populace to support the Phantom Thieves in the final fight. It's a great moment for him.

Yeah, I did manage to max him just in time

and that was easily the coolest moment for him in the story

This. Unless you have P3P, play 3 first. It's impossible to go from 4 to 3 since they're similar from a gameplay standpoint, but 4's improvements over 3 are huge. (though 4 is the best one imo)

One thing I hate about the ending... Joker shouldn't have moved back. His friends and family were the Phantom Thieves, Sojiro, and the rest. The family that didn't believe him, the friends who shamed him, the people who kicked him out... they don't deserve to have him back. They made their bed. It's time they slept in it.

Yeah, it's weird he did. Maybe had something to do with the parents still having custody? Really I figure it was just a narrative tool to cleanly wrap up the adventure though

Not sure if I'll be going back to 3 or 4, or when that would be. I'll go into full thoughts on the game later because I really need to get to bed

Persona 4 has a similar issue, although it's not as pronounced as what happens in Persona 5

I imagine Joker moves back to Leblanc when he comes of legal age though

Alright so thoughts:

-Definitely enjoyed the game more than I thought I would. Same thing happened with several B8 suggestions (most notably Ace Attorney and 999), where the game wasn't really a style I cared for, but the story was compelling enough to push me through it.
-It was held back for me by typical JRPG things. I really wasn't into the dungeon-crawling through repetitive corridors and repetitive enemies. I found myself mostly speeding through them as much as possible. Seeing them was still cool though, as the palaces were all really unique.
-Game did a good job of balancing the "generic character player can view themselves as" and "guy who's actually cool"
-Mementos kind of sucked
-Art style and music were consistently great
-Might do a short character ranking
