I opened the game up for a couple of minutes but I have to pack up now for boarding school.
Does the conversation with your mom determine your starting stats? I saw one option levelled me up and they had stuff like Speech/Strength/Vitality beside them all. What are different stats capable of? --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Certain characters can train you in certain things. People who teach you how to sword fight will give you lessons on how to fight better with more advanced techniques as you level up your sword fighting ability.
Other characters may train you in stealth, lockpicking, hunting, etc., but many of those are essentially "pay X amount for a level up in stat Y." --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Is it really metagaming though to consider that as a peasant you probably can't go toe to toe with men at arms and armored knights?
