No it's not. A lot of China are very conservative socially. They are in favor of laws restricting stuff like homosexuality whereas Americans want people to be free socially.

Well of course, the problem with the past is that people in the present will look at it and see that it only went down because of uprising by the public against their masters, if you keep the public divided, hating each other and ignorant you could run a communist dictatorship for decades and decades without anyone to get in your way, it's the same with America despite how we refuse to admit it, we have corporations stripping away our rights by the year and a populace eager to kill each other in the most brutal fashions they can think of, we hate each other so much we don't even see the other side as human, just enemies to do with what our darkest desires tell us to once the official signal kicks off.

i like how everyone here is equating this to liberals etc, when gwb basically set the status quo for the current surveillance state with the patriot act. sure, obama only put it on steroids, but your god king trump isn't doing any better. you probably didn't notice, but he actually passed the cloud act with the discretionary spending bill, allowing other governments to spy on american citizens and gain access to all cloud data without a warrant (even in a secret court). the legislation is written so that it allows the president to enter into these agreements with other countries to essentially skirt any right to privacy americans once had due to information sharing agreements.

this is not exclusively a liberal/democrat or republican problem. use your brains for a change, please.

Just give it up, any excuse to dehumanize the other side will be leaped on, be it liberals or conservatives, the only hope for a real change is to have the sides kill each other again and enjoy the peaceful period humanity pretends to have learned it's lesson only for it to crop back up again under a different name.
