I prolly buy over a thousand dollars worth of stuff on amazon every year, between my wife and I. I mean in the calender year 2018, we've already spent $380, its only been 3 months. I dont even wanna go back and check 2017 cuz theres so many purchases, I wouldnt be surprised if it surpassed $2000.

5% cash back would mean anywhere from $50-100 in my pocket instead of the stupidass 1% wells fargo gives me. And theres no annual fee, and I dont think I need a chase account, right?

Any reason in particular why you'd take the Store Card over the Rewards Signature card?

I was just now browsing this. Rewards signature card seems awesome, actually. Plus no annual fees and it gives you a ton of benefits that I could really use.

I never read the credit card benefits or fine print, I've had 1 credit card for 10+ years now with wells fargo and it is shit. I generally dgaf about interest rates cuz I always pay my card off monthly. But im reading these benefits like....travel insurance, auto rental car insurance, luggage, etc, so I never have to pay extra for that and I can have peace of mind that Im okay. 2% at restaurants and gas stations and 5% at amazon and whole foods.

I mean, Basically Im getting a 5% discount on every amazon purchase. How is this not the best thing ever? Am I being conned? I dont get it.

You also get 5% back on purchases at Whole Foods too, for what it's worth. I know that because I work there and there are signs for it. I mean, for what that's worth.

I have the Store Card. Pretty great. Financing my 60" 4k Samsung on it, almost done now. And the 5% cash back is good for smaller purchases.

And Synchrony hands out CLIs like fucking candy too.

For right now you can also even sign up for 5% rewards when using the card at restaurants.

Plus it's a Visa card and the Signature program has its own perks independent of Amazon (though I haven't had an opportunity in the whole time I've had it to take advantage of those >_>).

I don't know why you'd get the store card >_>. The Visa card is managed through Chase, though. But I haven't had any problems with them.

Also keep in mind that it's obviously just for the Amazon store, and it can take a while to build up points there (though the points don't expire so that's a plus).

You might also explore general cashback rewards cards, too.

its not bad. i have it but i never use it lol. i find more value from using cards that earn you Chase Ultimate Rewards points for travel.

just remember you can redeem for cash in 20 (25?) dollar intervals. its way better than using it on the website because when you redeem on the website, you don't earn points on the value that gets taken up by the points. so like if something was 10 bucks, and you redeem for 5, you only earn points on the 5. but if you redeem for cash, you effectively earn on everything.

plus the prime card version is metal :D

when you get the card you'll create a chase credit card account to like view things and pay it. if you're asking if you need to make a bank account, no.

This is not the only difference.

The rewards card is also a regular credit card. The Store card is a loyalty card and can only be used on Amazon.

Well yeah. I'm just saying the financing is a reason to get the store card over the signature, the fact that it's exclusive is besides the point there.

Pretty good video.

I think Ill go ahead and get it.

My only consistent purchases are: >$1000 a year on amazon between my wife and I on the same account, gas and groceries.

My wife actually has a chase southwest card cuz we fly southwest so much, so we usually just do that for flights and shit.

I can't imagine buying anything on Amazon that would require long term financing, and then going with that "advantage" and foregoing all the "cashback" rewards you'd get from literally any purchase you make.

You still get the cashback, you just can't use the store card anywhere except Amazon.

The terms of the store card and rewards card are the same except for the following:

1. Store card has financing options / Rewards card does not
2. Store card can only be used on Amazon / Rewards card can be used anywhere
3. Store card is issued by Synchrony Bank / Rewards card is issued by Chase

The rewards card is the same as the Chase Freedom Rewards card except instead of the rotating category the category is always Amazon or Whole Foods.

I'm still not sure you understand it. You're not forgoing the cashback when you get the store card, furthermore, the financing isn't really long term. It's 6 months. It's useful if you do something like buy a game console or gaming PC part off amazon. It's not financing in the same way you finance a car.

CitiBank double cash for non Amazon purchases. 1% on what you buy and 1% of when you pay your bill. Much better deal than Amazon's 1% on some shit and 2% on some limited other shit.

Basically, you can pick up an Amazon Store Card, use it exclusively for Amazon, then use CitiBank for eveything else.
