So, going to see the movie, maybe tomorrow.

Read the book yesterday while flying home from NY (was a loooong day with a total of 19 hours of travel).

I might as well be a gunter lol...I have played so many games at least, and am pretty much down on the movies/tv shows of the era as well.

It made me look back at my life and the insane number of games I played until the last 5 years or so. It's sad that I don't play as much as I used to, and rarely finish a game now that I do play.

For the first 40 years of my life or so, gaming was the thing I did more then just about anything else, even working. I read as well, but even reading pales in comparison to the shear number of hours I have spent playing video games.

I started with the first games as well, right from the old Atari systems, Commodore/TRS 80 and Apples. I coded my own games in 3rd grade in basic on a school computer.

It is sad, but even though I have accomplished alot in my life, I was an electronic tech (went to a vocational school), ran shipping and handling for a company, worked in landscaping, married my wife and ran her law firm, got my masters in education and taught for years etc), my life has mostly been defined by video games and what I was playing at the time.

I hope that VR really starts progressing fast, and that I can jump into that soon before I get too old.

I always take this stuff as shallow pandering. So you sit in the theater and go 'I GOT THAT REFERENCE!'

I'm going to see the movie just because I'm a gamer myself. I'm not expecting anything groundbreaking though.

I saw it. It was ok.
I liked most of it but the parts I hated I really really hated.

From what I've been hearing the movie is nothingnlime the books, but it's enjoyable enough.
That being said I thought the book was terrible.
