Ran out of irl friends years ago. A lot of them turned out to be fairly awful people sadly.

Hopefully I find more one day, I have a happy life but I do miss playing D&D. Its pretty much my favorite activity

Go to a store and meet some people. That's how I got invited to play every Sunday. I went to watch. And they invited me to play. You can also just meet people a lot of other ways, too...

I have friends, but.....

My best friends, who I really like and seem to enjoy doing just about anything with, always flake on everything.

They set up plans and then don't show up.

Sometimes, they don't even let me know they are not going to show up or changed their mind.

It hurts my feelings and is very frustrating, but....I really enjoy their company.

I'm thinking I should talk to them about it, but I don't want to upset them.

I may be moving out of the area soon, which makes it all pointless anyway I guess.

Oh well, yeah, I have friends, but....perhaps I need better ones:(

You can always just get more friends. You don't have to get rid of any. Set up plans with multiple friends. That way, if one flakes, you can still go out to do whatever.

I ostensibly have friends, but it's been months since I've hung out with anybody. My long-term unemployment has made me really self-conscious and I don't talk to most of my friends anymore :/

I wasn't exactly Mr. Popular when I had a job either, though; I'd be lucky to hang out with people maybe once a week.

You don't have to hang out with them all the time. Or even talk all the time. Sometimes, I don't even want to be around people. But maybe go make a new friend. That could help.

Used to...but they've all moved out and we haven't really kept in touch. I keep in touch with a few still though. We've had some interesting memories together though. I'd show a picture of me and my friends at the Gold's gym when we met Ken Shamrock(he's not really tall in person) but I have to figure out how to transfer pictures from a dvd to a flash drive since my computer doesn't have a cd tray. :)

I'd end up with the same issue if I made new friends. It just gets hard to initiate conversations, especially when you haven't talked to somebody in a while and inevitably the small talk comes up about how are you, what's new with you, etc. I don't have a good answer for those (I'm not well and nothing is new with me). I think people get tired of hearing about my unchanging shitty situation, but it's not fair for me to try throwing a pity party, and I don't really want to just fake my way through it either. I've taken to just avoiding conversations like that entirely :(

You can get a USB cd drive. Or take it to a place that has a CD drive & use your email. Or something like that... And it's good to try to keep in touch.

Maybe you just have to meet someone who shares a lot of common interest. Then the conversation just kind of leads itself. And you don't always have to talk. Sometimes, it's just comfortable to be around a friend. Or friends...

You find out you don't need a big circle of friends.
My first long time friend is from 11 years ago. Second is from 9 years ago. The other two are from 6 years ago. We all try to get together and play 40k Only War or Pathfinder. Or maybe just movies or watch someone play a game. They're all insane assholes and they're great

That's great. Whenever I go home to visit, I try to gather my closest friends together. Sometimes, we just go out to eat. Maybe hangout at a bar or something. You don't need a big circle of friends. Sometimes, it's just nice to be around our closest. But having a big circle can be fun, too. Especially for like parties and whatnot...

I know how it is to be across the country from friends. But don't be afraid. You never know. Maybe they want to hang out with you, too. But they are also scared to ask. Just get in there.
