It involves looking for the high ground and using guns to kill people until you are the only one left.

Is this the value you wish to instill within your child?

I have not seen it. All I've heard about it (previously) is that it's a shooting game. That literally is all I know. The only reason I knew how to spell it was that I saw it somewhere here on Gamefaqs.

No. But he's feeling left out at school, so I figured I would do some research.

It's obviously inherently a violent game but I don't think it's unnecessarily graphic or anything like that

How old is your son

I wouldn't recommend letting a child younger than 14 play it tbh

Clearly Anakin should have played Fortnite.

It's like if Nintendo had their own original version of Call of Duty. It's cartoon-like in it's visuals, no blood, but some violence. It's like a children's version of PUBG. I wouldn't be too concerned, especially being it's free, and in comparison to most games like this, it's very mild.

Obviously I don't know your son, but he should be fine. It's a very cartoony shooting game, not really that violent or anything like that

That's the case--not your typical "my teenager acts like a child." He really is not neurotypical. Very immature; very naive.

Do not get your son Fortnite. Every man I know that got his son Fortnite regrets it. He'll play it all the time, and it will foster and develop a toxic gaming mentality in him.

Yes, and some other challenges--anxiety, ADHD, probably depression.

I'm thinking this game is a "no" for now.

Hmmm.

I don't know anything about the game in question, but early on in gaming I kind of let my children's behavior dictate what they could play mostly (outside of things like GTA which I banned). My son was probably 5-6 when RE4 on the Wii came out and he played that. In fact at around the same age the only game he ever acted out (and almost hurt his younger brother) was when he played Hulk Ultimate Destruction; a Teen rated game as oppose to RE4 being Mature. So I dunno. I think it depends on the kid more than necessarily the rating.

But each parent, parents their own way. I was just giving my two cents about the situation.

Edit: Both my boys have ADD and take medication for it, but I think games really do help them out. Especially my 11 year old when he has to wait (at like doc's appts and stuff) he always brings his 3DS with him which helps keep his mind occupied.

Yeah don't get your son fortnite, it wont help him at all if he has all those issues, it might make it worse.
