Might be the best spiderman movie. Also refreshing to see a young hero in a world filled with adult heros.

Although my nostalgia tells me that the original Spiderman 2 is still better

I liked Spiderman 2 solely for Alfred Molina's performance as Doc Ock.

It probably has the most emotional story so far. But again that might be my nostalgia. There were many fantastic scenes in that movie though, and I can't blame those on nostalgia.

But this new one feels so effortless and comfortable in its own skin. I love it

I hope his fat friend isn't in the sequel, or barely even, he was annoying.

Yeah, after spending a day to think about it, I guess it's not as good as Spiderman 2. Almost though.

But yeah he does grow as a character. He understands that he's not ready for the big stuff at the end of the movie. Makes a very mature choice.

Also I think the movie should have been called Friendly Nighborhood Spiderman. Homecoming is a stupid name

his resolves is makes it even worse. So he's mature because he failed so much that he agrees that he's not ready for the big stuff. it's like a kid trying to make the football team and failing so badly that he just giving up sports all together, and just plays football causually with his friends instead. it's not really a mature choice. Accpeting rejection is not a mature choice. You need to go back and pratice or study harder.

Yeah that's exactly what he does in the end.

If anything, Tony is the one who looks stupid. First Tony yells at Peter for trying to do something bigger than he can take on, and then rewards him at the end for doing the exact same thing he yelled at him for doing earlier. That makes no sense to me

Marvel desperately wanted to use the title to signal to everybody that Spider-Man was "home" again.

He was fine. He was also barely in the movie.

Same with that MJ girl. She was all over the ads and trailers, but she was barely in the movie

Mary Jane wasn't that fat but all of her scenes were pretty cringe worthy.

Holland is definitely the best Spiderman. They nailed the teen Spiderman from the 60s perfectly.

I still consider Spider-Man 2 the best overall, but there were quite a few things I liked better about Homecoming, particularly Holland's performance.

Spiderman 2 was a good movie, but not a good spiderman.

This version is the closest we have come to the original spiderman comics. And btw, in those he constantly had setbacks (like non-stop). Spideys story was always full of humor and quips, while dealing with tons of crap falling down on him all the time.

Considering real life (at least for me) often did exactly the same thing, it was a perfect fit. He was my favorite comic book character as a kid, and while Tobey is a good actor, I never felt he did a good job portraying Peter Parker and he did a HORRIBLE job portraying spiderman (especially in part 3).

The last reboot with that other guy at least had him doing a few quips and jokes while fighting, but it still wasn't anything like the original spiderman.

This latest incarnation is the closest they have come to be honest, even though it's more of a mix of original spidey and ultimate spidey.....it still works. Aunt may is WAY different, but not really in a bad way. Mary Jane is meh to me, I liked her in the comics, and she is very different in this incarnation but shrug, she wasn't in the movies much yet, I still will give her a chance (She is a big part of his story though).

Over all I'm cautiously optimistic about the future of spiderman. I also want a new Hulk movie (even though I never liked the hulk comics at all), as the new hulk actor rocks.

Main problem I see is that they used a teenage (or close to teenage) actor, and with how long it takes between spiderman movies, he's going to age a ton before the next one (not including avengers etc). That may mess things up a bit, but I bet they can handle it.
