XCX is a different experience from either XC1 or XC2. Much more gameplay and exploration based, lighter on story and characters (and what's there is iffy). The general concensus is that 1 > X but both have their fans.

XCX is a greaaaat game that has amazing characters and story.

Except theres also a main plot and main characters that are just godawful. Theres only one playable character that isnt dull as dishwater, and you get her pretty late in the game (and she doesnt get featured in the main plot)

Out of all 3 I've probably enjoyed X's sidequests the most. New LA is by far the best town in the series since I really did get attached to the residents end its evolution and dealing with new migrants.

How does this world work, logistically? I always thought it was neat that everything here was on the body of a big titan thing, but now I'm super confused as to how any of this makes any sense. We lived on his shins, then we went up his leg where there was a big plains area. Then we started crawling up his butt, and there was a big marsh. We went through his lung and trachea up to his upper back and there was a jungle. So far, I can stretch my imagination to fit what I've seen so far up to here. But then we teleport up to his shoulders and there's a big sea up there? How the fuck does that work?

The whole world the titans are on has water so you could imagine there's a precipitation cycle that filled those lakes on the shoulder. The gravity is least explainable part of it all. Although it's important to note that any gameplay area is a super tiny area, they have to hike a ton to get between areas.

I've read somewhere that the locations in the game are conveniently all relatively flat and parallel to the ground below, so all the steep cliffs you'd expect are just out of bounds (or being scaled off screen). Not sure how well it adds up, but it does at least make some sense for colony 9 which you can see jutting out from the leg if you look down from the part of colony 6 near the drainage pipes.

Tried following along in order to Eryth Sea

- Colony 9 (0:20), right calf (indentations in the back as per above image... can't really see on trophy)
(party enters Tephra cave, exits on the right leg, a small cliff you climb to reach Gaur Plains)
- Gaur Plains (0:30), right thigh you can see the arches of cliffs
(party climbs up to Colony 6)
- Colony 6 (0:40), Bionis's dick, pretty obviously sitting right there
- Satorl Marsh (0:48), party makes its way around the left waist, you can see some bubbles of cliffs about the pit where the joint is
(party enters at the lower-back, up a geyser in the "third lung", and out the upper-trachea)
- Makna Forest (1:15), Bionis's back. Large plane of woods extruding out his back)
- Eryth Sea (1:30), party flies up from Frontier Village tree up to the large pool above the Bionis's back

It dawns on me after I turn off the game and get ready for bed that it's not like the game is forcing me to be three particular characters. I bet this is one of those rare times when Reyn and Sharla shine together. I'll try again with a Shulk/Reyn/Sharla party tomorrow. I need sleep.

To clarify, I was able to kill the Telethia 3 times and then every time, the assassin gets crazy powerful immediately, before I get a chance to settle into a 3v1 battle. I tried a few times to focus her when I first walk into the room, but it was clear that was not the answer. I was doing alright with Melia, but the heals just weren't consistent enough. Yeah, I definitely think Sharla's the answer here.

Yeah, Reyn/Sharla was easy peasy mode. I don't think anyone dropped below half health, ever.

With how smoothly everything's going with Shulk and the royal family (Mother excluded), I was not expecting denial into Prison Island. Welp. Today was buy a new dresser and put it together day. I spent yesterday doing some old quests and getting some Colony 6 Reconstruction items. It's now level 2 and halfway through level 3. Tomorrow is Prison Island day.

Whoops, I spent last night making gems and finding out where I missed Intermediate Arts manuals that I really wanted (most were in the refugee camp that I hadn't been back to since Colony 6). Did some guy's quest in Alcamoth where he couldn't find his son and then daughter when he could've seen both from where he was, had he just looked around. Lazy asshole.

After I used up all the good crystals in Rank 2, I sold all the rest so they wouldn't take up space anymore. I didn't even bother using the ones in Rank 1, I just sold those without even looking. Now I hopefully don't have to worry about space for another few areas.

I made it into Prison Island, and I'm like 1800 units away from the end of this so that's fun. I had just planned on letting this die, because I have 10-12 hour work days from Tuesday through Sunday, so I was going to pick it back up then. But I guess this survived this long so whatever fuck it. Put in like an hour tonight just to have an excuse to post.
