What is your degree in? What kind of job are you trying to get? Do you let your interviewer know you are a holocaust denier?

Supply Chain management, but stuck in a finance job. I really want to become a business analyst or something more technical involving the use of SQL and stuff.

So I can pretty safely say that business analyst isn't really job gated by one's blue blood status, but with your current degree you probably don't have the required experience to jump directly into a analyst job on the tech side. One venue you can approach is to try and get a consulting job an a business consulting firm. Your degree can probably get you some level of entry level consulting job there. There is a good chance they'll have you branch out into other areas of consulting just to make sure they can consistently bill your time. That's where you can start expressing interest in the tech side and probably using firm resources to get qualifications and training in those areas. Eventually you'll have the resume you need to get a job doing just that.
