For example, you're driving a friend during at night during the freezing cold. They piss you off and end the friendship. Can you kick them out and leave them on the road where it's likely they will suffer freeze-bite, hypothermia, etc. ?

If they die from it and you knew they had know way of making it to safety it could be tried as negligent homicide. Depends on circumstances and what happens.

Sounds like criminal negligence to me.

Edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depraved-heart_murder, and reckless endangerment at the very least if they survive.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

It's definitely a tort. So they could sue the hell out of you. It's almost certainly a criminal offense too.

It'd debatable. Depends on the state and the incident.

This came to a head a while ago where a man was slowly drowning to death in agony and a group of teenagers just filmed him dying while they laughed and mocked him.

It went viral and then they were arrested.

Officially they were arrested for "Not calling the police!" but in reality it's impossible not to argue that they were arrested because there was mass outcry at them being assholes

I think it's legal.
