Different angle: Maybe they don't know what the case is, they just get to look at a piece of evidence in vacuum.

Well, in the case of thousands it would probably be confident majority, perhaps around 80~90%

Not for criminal law, there's way too much misinformation and spin from the media to let non-juriors decide anyone's fate. It could work in civil law except for divorce cases.
