In response to the other topic haha

I failed because i didn't invade the bycicle area when turning right.

I failed because I had only practiced with my mom's minivan and my dad's Buick and neither had a hand park brake (only foot pedal ones). But I was driving my mom's husband's car and it had one and I didn't know how to disengage it >_>. And then I clipped a curb on a right turn which was awkward.

Passed the second try just fine though.

Damn you must have felt very angry about that haha, the minivan wasn't available for the test or you didn't live with your mom at the time of the test?

the fella didn't like the way i parallel parked and aborted the test immediately

Damn you must have felt very angry about that haha, the minivan wasn't available for the test or you didn't live with your mom at the time of the test?

I think I took the sedan because it was a lot smaller and I figured it would be easier rofl.

I wasn't angry just embarrassed that I failed because of something so stupid. Like the guy just lifted the hand brake up and I was like "Uh... well that's not a great start"

What!? Wich state was it? Here in California that isn't a critical error

I did pretty well on my first test, but about 2 blocks from the finish a woman backed into me while i was stopped at a intersection. Automatic fail if youre involved in an accident, even if its not your fault. I got it the following week.

Failed because I had a fucking yellow as I was turning on an intersection, whatever. Passed it months later from the same guy who I watched fail three people ahead of me.

I failed because I hit a curb doing the three point turn and got the car off two wheels which is an automatic fail. I finished the test before the instructor told me.

I practiced it a lot and then on the next test I didnt even have to do it.

She was backing out of a parking spot in front of a bank. I was at a stop light parallel to the bank, she was old...

I passed, just to contribute. To be fair, it was in Baton Rouge, so if you showed up sober you were already better off ham the instructor.

My instructor had me drive him to his house to go to the bathroom. His son pulled up and was kind of nervous than a stranger (me) was sitting in his yard.

Then the guy literally fell asleep while we were out in the country.

I passed my learners permit first time, then passed the test to get my new driver tag first time as well.

Absolutely bombed getting my full license the first time though, missed so many blind spot checks.

It was in the Midwest. I remember feeling very nervous; I think what got me is that I made excessive, probably unnecessary attempts to correct my position. I later returned to the same guy ($5 discount for having failed once). During the road portion of the test he asked questions like, "If you had to veer off the road to avoid a collision, would you target a light pole or a hedgerow?"

Written test or actual driving

Failed written test twice. Didn't fail driving.

I aced the maneuverability test. For the road test my errors (IIRC) were:

Wide right turn
Sharp left turn
Riding the lane line twice (but never actually left my lane)

They were all bordline mistakes due to nerves and not being familiar enough with the car I tested in. The week after I made one error but I would have gotten a mark either way for that situation.

Really? was it open questions? Or with choices?

First time, while backing around the corner, I rolled up on the grass. Automatic fail.

Second fail was bullshit, tester said I should have waited longer at the stop sign to make sure the car coming on my left didn't drive through the intersection (was a 4 way stop btw). Same guy failed another kid for waiting too long at a stop sign. He then proceeded to lecture me about how kids shouldn't be allowed to drive and yada yada yada. Guess that is what happens when state employees weren't getting paid 25 years ago.

I failed the first time and passed on the second try.

I messed up parallel parking. Im 26 and I still cant paralell park. If Im driving in the city, I will pay to park in a garage before attempting to botch a parallel park job.

Mine was in Ohio. Tbf I didn't fail that second test. You get three minor errors before failing.
