For someone who had such an aggressively distorted view of entitlement, it's not a far leap to consider he felt paying a hooker was beneath him while other people could just casually date. Megalomaniacs typically detest resorting to pitiable desperate measures, which to them would be admitting a defeat not a solution. Giving in is a loss to them. Seeking a prostitute likely would not have resolved his central issue with society: his bitter victim complex judging people in comfortable sexual encounters while convinced he was prevented from having one. This guy clearly had problems beyond just losing his v-card. One hooker would not have been enough. And developing a sexual dependency on them...with a high chance of awkward results...probably would have made him snap anyway.
