Board 8 > Just finished Season 4 of Black Mirror *spoilers*

Overall it was...a bit disappointing. No one episode I really like. I dunno why. Maybe my expectations are a lot higher now.

1. USS Calister
Fun concept and execution, probably my favorite this season. Love how the plot progresses and the happy and earned ending. That
original invite message was super dumb though.

2. ArkAngel
Good and simple story. Wasn't much in the way of twist or technology, it was very easy to see how the story would go. I'm a bit disappointed at the ending.

3. Crocodile
Had my favorite character in the insurance agent. The more I think about it the more I like it, but Mia's descent to madness was a bit too...unwarranted? Lovely technology but it was a bit too separated from the A plot.

4. Hang the DJ
Everyone raved about this episode and I do like it, but...I don't know. Excellent thinkpiece on the modern dating app culture. The chemistry is real. I just think it could've been even better. The middle drags just a bit.

5. Metalhead
This one's a doozy, a very different episode. Apparently the director also did the first three episodes of American Gods. Distinctive style. It felt very lonely and...straightforward. More like a slasher film. Not bad, just not very impactful.

6. Black Museum
Was excited to see the past technologies featured. They were just there, but hey, nice references. Feels like a straight horror movie. Was legit creep'd out when the monkey doll talked. I really like the ending once again I think the middle part could've been tighter.

Excellent thinkpiece on the modern dating app culture.

It's not just about that. It's about the idea of machine learning, where we run millions of simulations on a computer to figure out an answer to a problem, and the idea that those simulations are "real" people too that we just torture and throw away.

I think that makes it way better than "durr tinder suxx" which is what I thought most of the episode was about. The ending twist actually made the whole episode better, which never happens in this show.

I was in pretty much the same boat as you. A bit disappointed, but probably had higher expectations. I did love Black Museum though.
