This is exactly what tips things for Odyssey for me. The worlds are absolutely chock full of little challenges and you can really tackle them however the hell you want, including all sorts of ways that make you wonder if the devs overlooked something or if they're just that good to let you feel like you cheated the game.

Like so many games hype up that you can play them YOUR WAY, but Odyssey has really been one of the first games to make me feel like I actually had complete freedom - which works wonderfully with its fantastic movement.

I totally respect if someone prefers the Galaxy games though - the craftsmanship of the levels there is really master class. Just depends on what style you prefer, and honestly I'd usually take Galaxy's approach but Odyssey is just that damn good.

It is!

I love how much fun it is to play. Not even in the level design, or objective, sense, but more in how Mario feels in your hands, how nice running and jumping is. Its a true Mario 64 successor in that regard.

I find part of the joy within the levels is figuring out what crazy traversal antics I can get into, rather than Moon hunting (but it inevitably will lead me there as a result). Can I make that jump? Can I try to scale this in a different way? Cappys such a complimentary tool, too! I dont know that any game has been so mechanically strong as Odyssey.

It isnt the best Mario, but what a fun, pleasant game it is. Best game on the Switch, for sure!

Agreed, it's so much fun! However, the fun quickly disappeared after beating it. The game overloads you with Power Moons. That is great initially, until you start becoming oversatiated with rewards. That's why I think the Galaxy games are still better, because there are just so many different and creative levels in them. Nevertheless, Odyssey is amazing in its own right, but so far haven't felt like getting all the power moons.

Hey I just bought it the other day as well. I've never been much of a Mario fan, although I did love Sunshine and Galaxy, and now Odyssey has been a joy to experience for myself.

The best part is I can play with a pro controller, which is probably the only reason I'd choose it over Galaxy. The motion controls ruin what would otherwise be one of the best games.

Peach has no games to play.

The ending sequence is incredible.

I thought Peach in the ending was awesome.

She's usually extremely bland in main games, so it was good to see her actually show some personality.
